Re: Help needed identifying a component - AEG Convection Microwave
Just to follow up... replaced the fuse and plugged it into an RCD for about 5-10 seconds. Had a low continuous crackling sound and the display panel flickered on and off for a few seconds and then stayed off. Also did a few other checks and I think the convection element was short. The device has now been returned to the owner and I recommended they buy a new one. Many thanks for the help.

Re: Help needed identifying a component - AEG Convection Microwave
This thing cost nearly £500 and matches other built-in appliances in a set. Plus it's owned by an OCD person with special needs. My first response was to tell them to replace it but it's no longer available new and the current model doesn't match the others....

Re: Help needed identifying a component - AEG Convection Microwave
Thanks for the replies...a bit more info might be helpful. The model number is AEG MCC3885E-m. A friend asked me to look at this after she called out a 'repairman' who replaced the 13amp plug fuse and switched it on. They said they heard an electrical crackling sound coming from the front left corner of the front panel. The repairman said he didn't have a torx screwdriver so couldn't remove the top cover and left it at that after charging £72 for his efforts
Anyway...the component in the photos...

Help needed identifying a component - AEG Convection Microwave
Hi all,
I have an AEG convection microwave that blew it's plug fuse. I can see a blown component on the main PCB but i'm struggling to identify it. Can anyone help? It had a blue label with some part numbers that was stuck over another label. I have searched for the numbers on both with no luck as yet. Photos are available here:

Componet replacement help Samsung Plasma
Hi,
I have just picked up a Samsung PS64D8000 with a bad power supply board (board PN: BN44-00447A). There's an obvious burnt leg/solder pad on one of the transformer/coil legs which I've cleaned up and re-soldered but I've also found a shorted MOSFET. The part number is FDA28N50F and I can see that they're available from RS, mouser and ebay etc....but...being impatient I've found some similar ones on a spare Panasonic board and wanted to check if anyone could say for sure if they would work? The specs listed on mouser are fairly similar but I'm not sure if they're close enough? Can anyone...Last edited by guando21; 09-01-2018, 12:38 PM.

Re: Ps-50q96hd That went pop
Not sure if I should be posting this question on an old thread but here it goes, I have just acquired one of these (samsung PS50Q96HD) which has 'sound but no picture'. I've been reading previous threads and the attached pdf test/repair guide and found the top buffer chip short (no suprises there based on other posts).
When checking the YSUS, Q5500, Q5302, Q5303, Q5304 & Q5306 tested short while in circuit but after removing them only Q5302 (88N30W) tests as short, the rest test fine. What do you think my chances would be if I just...

Wii U Console Flashing Blue Light of Death
Hi,
Not sure if this is the best place to ask this but can anyone help with a Wii U BLOD fault?
When power is connected to the console it shows a solid red light, when the power button is pressed the DVD drive cycles and the LED flashes blue (no pattern, just continuous flashing). There is no video output on HDMI or component, I don't have the gamepad but others report the console loses connection to the gamepad when it happens.
I've searched various gaming forums/youtube and this seems to be a common problem. The people that have had it have been told to return the...

Re: panasonic tx-p42gt30b
Thanks for the quick reply, I need to wait for more R6015 FETs to arrive so I'll check everything again. Regarding the lamp current limiter, would something like this do the trick? Re: panasonic tx-p42gt30b
I realise this is an old thread but just wanted to check if the issue was ever resolved? I have a TX-P42ST30b with a similar problem. Started with a 7 blink code, replaced the usualy suspects on the TNPA5330 SC board. On the TNPA5390 P board the 4 amp fuse was blown, replaced it temporarily with a slightly higer rated one as it was all I had to hand (6A or 8A I think?) and it immediately blew again and one of the FETs under the heatsink (Q300) blew as well as the two 8A fuses near the bottom of the board.
Replaced Q300 and Q301 (R6015ANX),...

Re: Panasonic TNPA5335 - from 7 to 6 LED blinks after Repair Kit
Another quick question for the plasma brain trust if you don't mind? Has anyone ever swapped out a panel on a VT30? (I've changed the front glass on a G10 and that was a pita!) These panels aren't bonded to the front glass panel are they?. I have one here that has some smudges (looks like a small hand print) near the top left corner on the actual panel behind the front glass. Not sure if it's worth the effort to remove/clean it and risk adding more marks and trapping dust in there? I found another forum where someone...

Re: Panasonic TNPA5335 - from 7 to 6 LED blinks after Repair Kit
213V was indeed the sweet spot
Using a clock face as a reference the potmeter was factory set at about 4 o'clock and I was getting 214V at P2. Turned it back to 3 o'clock and it dropped to 213V and sparkles are gone(l also tried turning it up near 5 o'clock, voltage went to 216V and loads of red sparkles appeared).
Thanks again...

Re: Panasonic TNPA5335 - from 7 to 6 LED blinks after Repair Kit
Got the service menu now thanks (Vol - 000 instead of iii) cheers. VSUS was set to Low, tried High but more red haze appeared so left it at low.
From what I can see in the service manual schematics the VR251 pot is what I need to adjust to lower the voltage? Is that correct? Thanks again....

Re: Panasonic TNPA5335 - from 7 to 6 LED blinks after Repair Kit
Thanks for all your help on this, do you replace all the drivers or just Q531 and IC502? (as most repair kits tend to include).
I'm not sure if this is the right place but I have a few more questions that I'm sure you knowlegable folk could help with.
On a TX-P50ST30b I've tried entering the service menu by holding Vol - on the TV and pressing i 3 times on the remote. It brings up a self test screen but there is no side menu as indicated in the service manual and does...
