Re: RCA (Thomson) F20TF10 in a coma

It all depends on your desire to fix or not. Check all connections and installation. Now we need to understand why there is no remaining supply voltages. IP330 probably 7809 and it is necessary to determine why there is not 3 pins of 9 volts. Check what kind of resistance has pin 3 IP330 to ground. IV01 video processor is labeled TA1268?

Re: RCA (Thomson) F20TF10 in a coma

Yes, I understand it depends on my deisre to fix it. The disappearance of the flyback output is disappointing though. Double checked my connections. Nothing has changed since yesterday when there was still 27KV on the anode.

      IP330 pin3 has 1.1K to ground.
      Yes vid proc is TA1268N.

Means it is necessary to remove the metal clip and change the IP330

Re: RCA (Thomson) F20TF10 in a coma

I think there are two problems, and correct me if I am wrong but please make clear explanations for me. I am obviously not as knowledgable a component level electronics tech as you guys are.

          Problem #1
          No 6 volt supply.
          Problem #2
No flyback output. (Which WAS working before when there was still no 6v)

I'll see about freeing IP330 and see whare I can go from there. Thanks so much for the help and please have patience with me.

Ok now the main problem is the absence of 9 volts. Until tomorrow.

              Yes, IP330 is a 7809 regulator.

I damaged pads and traces (again) trying to get that clip off the heatsink. Why didn't they just screw it to the heatsink like the others? I had to remove the chip and heatsink as a unit.

I guess they did not have screws. Everything must be carefully restored.

Yeah, well I'm getting some practice at doing that lately, aren't I? I don't happen to have a 7809 on hand so it's on hold until after the 1st.

Sometimes it is easier to remove the latch than unscrew the screw in the hard to reach places. I hope I have at least something to help.

That may be why the heatsink was designed that way but I think they had a bunch of them they needed to use up. I see no other explanation. Yes, you have been very helpful, thank you.

This clip I have not seen, probably had desoldering 7809 together with the radiator. Check the fuse marked MP 50.

I can get the regulator from Parts Express (and too much in shipping) but haven't found a source for the fuse yet.
