Lg 60" Plasma 60PV450 IR, or Bad Board? Displays "trippy" colors. See Pix! HELP!

I have had this Tv going on 4 years now. No problems at all until last week. Why I am not sure if this is fixable or not, is that it comes and goes at random, one minute the tv has perfect picture, next minute it turns to what you see in picture #1, Doesn't matter if its the first time you turn the tv on, or leave it on for 8 hours, The randomness is what stumps me. I have included detailed photos of every board in the tv, and have tried to visually see any issues or defects on the these boards. I don't see anything burnt or possibly causing an issue. My main question is do you think this is IR is permanent or can be fixed?

Please see 1st picture is basically what I am getting on every input on the TV, I have tried using HDMI, VGA, COAX inputs, Also used different devices, cable box, xbox, ps3, pc. ALl give me the same problem, so I know its the TV. I apologize if this fix has been posted else where.

    Thank You!

Looks to me like mal-discharge/underdifussion. Not IR or burn in. Very likely to be fixable, there is a common issue on these which looks similar caused by cracked solder joints.

Do you have a digital multimeter available?

Yes I do. Just curious where I should start checking.

I would say z sustain, third pic, but tom will set you straight. Not sure if it's wise to throw a hair dryer at it for too long but that might help you see the fault or cure the fault so you know you are in the right location.

i was thinking it might be the y sustain boards. they control the vertical lines. i would check the main y sustain board. fastest way is to replace y main and the inverters. like the guy above said too, i've read a lot of tom66's posts and he can set you straight.

Plasma TVs don't use inverters... the Y-sustain drives the scan and sustain but the Y-buffer is for the vertical scan more than the Y-sustain is...

Anyway, I would try re-flowing the solder joints on the three coils between the black and silver heatsink here

            And the same here

Given it is a common issue.

also check the small axial fuses next to the main power connectors on Y and Z board. z sustain usually has more than one but i'm only seeing one unless it's hidden under a heatsink.

Philips 70PUS7855/12 bad colors when applying the tape fix on teh T-con board
                by silikon77
                Hi!
Got an 70 inch Philips tv model 70pus7855/12 from scraps and I decidet to give it a go. I'm an enthusiast but no porfessional in the electronics.
Found some advices watching youtube nad came up with this:
It came with no picture, after diagnosing it I found out that the right side of the T.con board was faulty.
I taped down the clock signals and I got a picture but the left side of the panel has less pronounced colours. Only the right 3rd side of the panel has good colors.
                See attached picture.

I tried a few combinations to block individual clock...

                Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
                a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
                c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.

                Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
                by jm1234
                Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Hitachi 55HDS69 55" Plasma TV - No Picture But Sound
                by KYBOSH
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...
