Set had water drip into set. It works but has a Red Vertical Stripe from top to bottom of screen. I don't see any water damage or burnt boards. Is it the Panel?

Check bottom of panel - COF connections must be seated on XL/XC/XR boards. Reseat only with power OFF.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

No, it can't.
I would try, if possible, swapping around some of the control board ribbons going to XL/XC/XR.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60 45 Red Vertical Stripe from Water Damage
When swapping the cable from the control board and the red stripe moves to another position on screen tells me the control
Board is bad and the Panel and xl/xc/xr are good? Changing the
Control cables won't make it worse? I guess I am worried about
Making it worse. I was not aware I could do it. This is the first time I was aware. Thanks I will try it.Comment

Re: LG 60 45 Red Vertical Stripe from Water Damage
To me, it sounds more like a cable is worn, broken or corroded. I'd try getting a replacement ribbon.
You can swap the ribbons only if they are the same size. After all, they are only cables, they do not have any "cross-over" connection. It is direct point-to-point.
What I meant was to move the actual cable, so unplug it from both ends.Last edited by tom66; 08-30-2014, 08:09 AM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60 45 Red Vertical Stripe from Water Damage
Remove the cables on at a time and check for corrosion on both the cable and it's socket, I have seen these corroded before, if the socket is also bad you will probably need to replace the board it's connected to. You can check continuity on the ribbons as well.Comment

by edugimenoHi! My friend just brought this audio amplifier/speaker fro his music band saying they realized its got no sound. Led powers up but there no sound at all
I opened it and found 3 board. 2 of them are for input plugs and potentiometers, and the other larger board has the amplifiers for 2 large speakers that it drives
There's also a large toroid transformer that feeds a lower voltage to the first 2 boards and a larger voltaje (36x2 rectified close to 100v) to the power board. The power board has the plugs for both speakers
There is only one signal wire connecting the first boards...-

by Joel OhanaHi,
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IAU7 that suffered water damage. It doesn't turn on (white power light flashes when on button pressed), and the amber light flashes when plugged in.
Symptoms:- Short detected – sparks appear when touching the charging port connection with board with a metal (even a multimeter probe).
- Visible damage – after cleaning corrosion, I found 4 possibly burnt memory chips near PC3165, labeled UD5, UD6, UD7, and UD8.
What are my next steps to diagnose and possibly repair it without replacing the entire board? Any guidance would be greatly... -
by abajorLike title says A2141 came in with Water Damage, customer desperately wants the data.
The actual water ingress doesn't appear too bad it sat for a day but was very dusty internally. I have no idea why L8504 was arced there is no apparent moisture there or around the LVDS cable; however, the LVDS to screen screw studs had popped off at some point and somebody tried securing it with kapton tape.
I had to create a micron wire pad jumper to reconnect the south side of the L8504 since the primary pad was blasted down to the vias.
That said after cleaning up the... -

by AndreasbestHello!
Today i received a Legion 5 pro with motherboard NM-D562 that suffered water damage, no power at all, no led, no fans, nothing.
I measure 20v on PQ5401 at pins 5, 6, 7 and 8 but 0v at 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Is this normal?
Thanks in advance!
