Picked this one up, 32" LCD but very cheap, was stuck in burn in APS mode with cycling test patterns. No response to any buttons. Vestel chassis, 17MB12-3 with 17PW20-1 PSU. To fix, I borrowed an EEPROM from a completely different Vestel board, they are socketed. I hoped set would recognised corrupted EEPROM and attempt to reflash. Well sort of, the TV powered up but with all settings wrong (only 1 HDMI, weird TV mode called "TVMN", etc...) I was able to enter service mode and adjust all settings to the right ones including setting tuner to Thomson so it could receive Freeview broadcasts. After doing this set works perfectly.
The PSU does have four bulging caps on it, so will have to replace them. The bad caps have also damaged one main board capacitor too, bulging, as it would have been subject to high ripple. I guess it's possible the bad caps corrupted the EEPROM in the first place though set does not currently show any fault symptoms as a result of the bad caps.
