Sony kd 43x85k no power at all - not even the click for power.

I got this Sony KD 43X85K TV. It will not power on, No LED light in front.

    1) I did check for blown Capacitors and I didn't see any bulging Capacitors, but that doesn't always mean there isn't a bad one present.
    2) I was going to check voltages at the pins and I did get some voltage, but got confused as there are 14 pins, but the descriptor on the left of the pin connections has only 9.
Voltages i did get were a 3v which is usually stand-by power IIRC, and 2 pins had 13v and I was reading similar voltages to the main board. But unless I'm able to figure which pin is which, it makes assessing more difficult i think.

Or is there a different component I should be looking at?

    Thoughts?

on the right side of the socket you have the reset of Pins GND t-con_on and T-CON VCC 12V .. and 12V
so do the messing again over all and listed here the messing by Pins number

Ok so for the 14 pins, from bottom to top based on the picture.

      pin voltage
      1 0.11 v
      2 NC
      3 NC
      4 NC
      5 NC
      6 12.6V
      7 12.6 V
      8 12.6 V
      9 NC
      10 NC
      11 3 V
      12 NC
      13 NC
      14 NC

you still reading the Pins on socket in wrong way. the socket had 2 row pins
        Code:
        row 1 row 2
        1 - BLINKING 2- PWM1_DIMMER
        3- DC_DIMMER 4- NC
        5- NC 6- NC
        7- BL_ON 8- BL_ERR
        9- POWER_ON 10- GND
        11- GND 12- GND
        13- REG 12V 14- REG 12V
        15- REG 12V 16- REG 12V
        17- REG 12V 18- REG 12V
        19- GND 20- GND
        21- GND 22- GND
        23- GND 24-GND
        25- TCON VCC 12V 26-TCON_ON
        27- TCON VCC 12V 28- TCON_VCC 12V
we are interesting on PIN messing
        7 , 8, 9, (13,14,15,16,17,18) , 26, ( 25,27,28 )

however you wrote you have 12V but we dont know if this REG 12V or TCON VCC, at the end i suspect MB... but you can try always disconnect the screen totally from the T-CON , if the TV work you will have the audio Optic Port öit red.

So I did attempt to check more of the pins, but with the connector out of the socket. (multimeter set to 20 v max)

The bottom row from the left to right, the 5th,6th, 7th pins only had 0.14, 0.15, 0.17 volts. (not sure on the orientation and pin numbering of the socket) everything else was NC.
I believe I was testing the correct pins now?

I also disconnected the panel from the T-con, connected the main board to the power board, attempted to turned power on, and the Main board optical port didn't light up.

so the sockets pins Numbers calculated, you need the PSU connected to MB, and flip the PSU to measure the V from downside , mark first on backside pins 1 and 2 as it show here they start messing

Ok. Will do that, but as I work. This part may take me a bit longer to get to. Maybe Friday Evening for me.

So I was able to do the voltages now, correctly I believe LOL.

I have uploaded pictures on the back...and I haven't done any soldering of any sort.

So the Tcon pins are negligble, does it mean the Tcon is bad, or the powerboard? I did plug the Panel back into the T-con. just to make sure that didn't effect t he testing.

Also, pin 8 has power and that means BL err Or does that mean that pin 7 isn't on?
pin 9 has the requisite power on I'm assuming.

It's a new tv and it's a Sony so don't expect bad capacitors. Since you have 12V going to main board it's probably main board fault. If it wasn't, it would probably give error code (red light blinking). You can try factory reset (press power button on TV while plugging it into socket), and eventually you can try software update from usb stick, but it probably won't start if it's completely dead.

So replacement of the main board, brought the TV back to Life. Got a complete set of boards, but only replaced the main board for a cheap $25.

                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

Powersupply has all the voltages - Monitor still no power
                        by Capacitorial
                        Hello guys,

I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
                        On The TCON...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
                        by stylishconsultant
                        Hi All,

                        Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....
