    tv dump questions part 1

    Hi everyone.
I don't have too much experience on electronics.
    I'm a amateur.
But is better if somebody give right answers to die trying

    1. Can I check a electrolyte capacitor (basic the main one) with the tv in on? and what voltages expect on standby mode and power on?
    2. When you check a transistor need to be the tv in on or off ?
    3. When you check you power board and make short between vs and ground, how many ohms need to be consider for detect if my board have a short.?
    4. how turn on power board on plasma tv with ps_on, standby, ground, vs_on?
    5. the 5v standby is generate after main capacitor?
    Thanks

Re: tv dump questions part 1

1=167 volt DC on main filter cap in standby, around 394volt DC when PSU is active(depends on make/model if there is voltage yes/no)
2=TV needs to be off and unplugged
3=mega ohms when healthy, better ask resistance between Vs/Va and GND on X and Y board
4=Depends on make/model of TV,state your Tv brand and model(pictures a BIG plus)
    5=On most LCD TV's yes,on plasma depends on make/model(see #4)

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 - real bios dump from board needed (no stock bios)
        by DynaxSC
Hi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).

I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...

Led TV Board Replacement, same part number and model, different size
        by Cvrado
        Hello my friends!
I have a question that I think you can answer and help me with!

I have a faulty main board from an led TV. And I found the same part number board and design but is from a 43" TV and I want to use it on a 65". On its stickers , all are the same except the wattage for the LEDs backlight, both state different watts and LED Voltages!

So I presume that the backlight inverter section from the replacement board has lower wattage then the original one, am I right?

My concern is that the board won't draw enough voltage to the bac...

Dell 7320 questions regading bios dump and patch
        by gigi3
        Hi there everyone!

I am awaiting on a CH341 programmer and a WSON 6x5 probe to dump the flash of a Dell 7320 8FC8 with Winbond 25R256JVEN chip, in the meantime I'd like to get things ready in order to maximise my chances of success. I have seen a few tools around, NeoProgrammer, Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit, CH341A Programmer, Flashrom to name some. Which one is the most recommended/suitable for this kid of application? The only one that seems to have support is NeoProgrammer New Update V2.2.0.10.

I find my self a bit confused, and I would rather getting a clean dump...
