Re: Problem with Samsung Plasma PS43D450

someone else posted on a video on Youtube about an LG with same issue :

You need to take the back off and tweek the pots on the PSU board (using a multimeter set to DC volts) to what the lable says stuck on the metal work, your looking for something that says voltages Va 60V and Vs 186v obveously panel voltages differ so yours may be differant voltages, if they are fine you need to tweek pots on Y-SUS board 2 on board and 2 on duaghter boards, mark with marker and set back to orignal position if tweeking does not cure (hence the marker pen to mark orignal possition)

anyone think this would help ?

Could you supply a picture of the fault. Vs/va unlikely to be cause but a good first step would be to verify them against the panel sticker.

Could be xmain Ve problem or sometimes an issue with Vsc. Also I think Samsung have a firmware update fit a similar problem so may be worth a look.

What's current Vs rating? Not what it tests, what's written on the panel?

OK set Vs to 213V and see how the picture changes.

mark the pot with a marker pen so you can return it to the original setting very slowly turn the pot and watch the screen to see if the fault alters dont turn the pot to high imo as the high voltage may cause issues im not sure what a safe voltage to go to will be maybe tom will advise when he gets a few spare minutes hes probably busy with his new job.
i would of thought turning the pot anti clockwise will decrease votage and turning the pot clockwise increase well thats my opinion you can alter it a little after marking it with a pen and test with a multi meter remember some times these pots are sensivtive so a little tweak alters a lot.

Edit!!! just reread toms above post as your voltage is 207 turn it up to 213 see if the picture gets better.

Yes, that's correct. If the panel still faults try up to 216V, but do not go any higher or damage could result.

should i be adjusting the VS on the PSU or the Ymain ? i tried VS on PSU and the voltage did not change its stayin on 184v which im assuming is too low as it should be 207v ?

Yes 184V is too low. The only place you can adjust Vs is on the power supply. Adjust it there. If it will not go up there is a problem with the PSU that needs diagnosing.

First set it to 207V. If that is still bad try up to 213V.

I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                                          1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                                          2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.

Just starting to crack into this one and wanted to get the ball rolling.

At power on (plug in), power light on, relays click, repeat (sometimes)

After disconnecting Y-Main from SMPS power stays on and boot up jingle is heard from speakers

Removed Y-Main for inspection and testing
