Polaroid TLX-04244B with Weird video and backlight problems

I've not seen anything about this on this forum yet. My 42" Polaroid TLX-04244B comes on and stays on. Has sound and picture. It has a problem that has gotten progressively worse over time. It was originally purchased on Black Friday, 2007 and the issues started with it sometime in 2011.

    The issues:
First issue: For a long time, when first fired up, the right half of the screen would be dark and any image you could see on that side would be super persistent for several seconds. Then, after 15 - 30 minutes it would light up and all would be OK.

Second issue: It started having jumping lines, missing lines and/or all black across the top 1/4 of the screen on startup along with the right side darkness. Both would clear up after a warm up period.

Third issue: While the right side was dark, it would squish the video on the right side to where you could see two or three of the image (only the right side though, the left side looked normal) sometimes it would do all three at once. But again after it warmed up, all would be OK.

Forth issue: The right side backlight has finally given up. It stays dark all the time. The image issues are still there.

I haven't torn into it yet, so am not sure if it has integrated inverters or not. I've tried to find a service manual online, but haven't had any luck with that. This forum seems to have more info than anywhere else on the web.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Sounds like the panel has failed. To be honest, I don't know that I would put any money into fixing it. You'd be money ahead looking for a newer tv in non-working order on Craigslist and fixing it.

Well, that's not the answer I was hoping for, but looks like you'll save me some money in the long run. Thanks for your prompt reply. I'll have to hit CL and see what's available.

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

        by bouny56
        Hello

        Laptop E15 I5 10gen
        Mb nm-c421

I have a problem with the usb-c power dc.
The motherboard start only in one side of the usb-c

Replace the usb-c port 2 times same problem

With the usb-c meter, one side 20v ok, other side the usb-c meter don't come on

Try to test the pin with the Mechanic Tail insertion tester and every pin are ok ?

Can the pd controler be the fault ? Or something else maybe ?

        Thx

        USB problems?
        by Hondaman
Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
        by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.
