Re: Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights, just a clicking sound
OK, I will download them and see if they are good enough for tracing out the circuits or not. In the meantime we will wait to see what kind of Voltages you have on those connectors.

I need good clear straight shot pictures of the bottom side of the power supply board to be able to figure out what those two resistors are for.Leave a comment:

^^ the two resistors I was talking about in my first post are towards the upper-left of the white sticker/transformers close to the bottom of the second pic (the one of the power supply board). not sure if they're actually important or not though...Last edited by silva000001; 05-25-2017, 10:09 PM.Leave a comment:

We need good clear straight shot pictures of the bottom side of the board so we can trace out the circuit in that section where the two resistors are.
BTW what is the full p/n as printed on the white sticker?

Need voltages from connector that goes from power supply board to main board. Will need pin#- PIN DESCRIPTION -Pin voltage in standby-Pin voltage when pushing power button and picture of connector on power supply board.
Format:
Pin# - Pin Description - Pin Voltage standby - Pin voltage power on
1 - XXXXXXX - XXv - XXXv
2 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv

Re: Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights, just a clicking sound
Hello.
I have the same TV, and am having a similar problem with the TV staying on (NSX-32GT1). I plug in power, and the LED turns red as normal (one loud click). When I try to turn it on, however, it tries to stay on for a few seconds, then turns off and the red LED blinks 5 times, pauses for a few seconds, and repeats blinking 5 times.
I just brought a multimeter home from work today and started taking some volt readings, but before I got too far, I just tried turning it on again and it's working now.
A few days ago, I was able to get it working after a few powercycles, but then it stopped working. Obviously, there is some part that is dying, but I'm not sure what. I measured 120VAC out of the power supply. One weird thing I noticed was R6501 and R6513 were running inconsistent voltages. With the power cable plugged in but the TV not on, they would fluctuate a few dozen volts relatively quickly. I'm not sure what the purpose of these resistors are but it seemed strange to me. I was measuring DC, as AC just showed up as 0V.
Any ideas on what might be happening?
Thanks.Leave a comment:

Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights come on
I have the same TV and had a very similar (scary) lightning hit near the house. All my A/V equipment was on a surge protector and all was good there. The TV was plugged directly into the coax cable and it was the closest TV to the underground cable coming into the house near the tree that got hit. The TV went out and NO power light comes on, clicking or any sign of blown fuse.
Would this indicate the BA board that the cable was plugged into is blown? How do I test that? First time user....Thanks!!!Leave a comment:

Re: Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights, just a clicking sound
I'm happy to report that the TV is now working. I bought a power supply board from Tri State Module for about $55. I swapped it out today and no more clicking. The TV now powers on properly. It's got a total of 4 HDMI inputs. One of them does not work. I'm not sure if it is the one that was plugged in at the time of the surge but it most likely was. When I turn on my LG Bluray player connected to this bad input it will initially show the LG logo and the red warm up dots along the bottom of the screen but after that it doesn't show anything. So it's probably something simple on the main board.
So going from nothing to 3 out of 4 HDMI's working for just $55 I'll call the job complete and consider it a success.
I greatly appreciate the help that people provided!!Leave a comment:

Re: Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights, just a clicking sound
Ok,now it's time to get the multi meter out.
We will be most interested in standby voltage and ps-on for now.
A lightning strike like that often takes out the inputs on a mainboard. Then again a power supply could easily fail with a surge like this. Hence the unplug those connectors and see if clicking is still there. Starting to look like mainboard but we should make sure power supply is ok too. You said a friend has a meter you could borrow?Leave a comment:

Re: Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights, just a clicking sound
I gave it a try. The CN6150 goes to the main board (BA board) and the small plug beside of it goes to the M Board.
I tried unplugging it in stages. I first unplugged both connectors and no clicking sound when I plugged the power cord in. I then plugged in the M board and still no clicking sound. I then plugged in the main board and the clicking resumed. Ouch! Does that mean it's more likely to be an issue with the main board rather than power supply?
I kind of jumped the gun and ordered the power supply board from Tri State Module for about $55 along with another part for a different TV. Worst case would be I'm out about $11 for a restock fee plus shipping if I have to send the power board back. Plus, the main board will be a bit more expensive (be lucky to find one for $100).Leave a comment:

It starts clicking as soon as you plug in the power cord.Leave a comment:

Below is a link that shows a closeup of that connector. I don't have a multi meter (or know how to use it) but a friend might be able to help me this weekend

by AudezeI have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

by AkuankaHi everyone,
I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.
Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help! -

Symptoms:
The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.
Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA
Progress:
After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I... -
by slimmy182Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).
I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...-
