Re: Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights, just a clicking sound
Can you make a close up picture from the connector on the power board that has the most wires come out of it? It shows printing beside it what tells you what it is,ps-on,stby etc..
Do you have a multi meter?

I'm leaning towards buying the power supply board first since it's making the clicking sound. Anyone have other thoughts?Leave a comment:

Sony NSX-32GT1, Power Surge, No video/audio/lights, just a clicking sound
A bolt of lightning hit very, very close to our house and messed up a couple of our TV's. TV's are long out of warranty. Due to a high home owner's deductible it's not really worth pursuing a a claim.
So for the NSX-32GT1 it worked very well prior to the incident. After the surge the person who turned it on advised me that it started to come and I believe the power light was on but then no lights and all it does now is a make a clicking sound. I took the back cover off the TV to see if I could find any visual signs of something being burnt out. I didn't see any. I carefully plugged the power cord in to see if could verify where the clicking sound was coming from it was clearly coming from the power supply unit. After removing the power cord and letting it set for a while I looked at the underside of the power supply and din't find any signs of damaged/burnt IC's. I also did the same for the BA board and didn't see any signs of anything being burnt out on the underside.
Also, both TV's were using an HDMI splitter so I have a feeling that this cheap component might have been the weak link that caused the problems. The reason I say this is because the 2nd TV with the problem has a blown HDMI input but everything else appears to work (the HDMI output on the disnetwork VIP722 is also blown but other outputs seems to work). This is the cheap $25 part that monoprice sells and is a powered 1 x 2 splitter.
Any ideas on which internal component is bad? I will try to post some pictures in a few minutes.Tags: None

by AudezeI have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

by AkuankaHi everyone,
I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.
Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help! -

Symptoms:
The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.
Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA
Progress:
After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I... -
by slimmy182Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).
I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...-
