Here's some simple things to try, just in case, but might be something harder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gysJRUcAmTMComment

If anyone has special knowledge of this model they can probably help too, here's some tests to try: with tv unplugged from power unhook cable from powerboard to mainboard at powerboard, plug power cord into powerboard, see if backlights come on and stay on. If it passes that test, plug that cable back in, unhook cable from mainboard to driverboard (which is at the top in the picture) at the mainboard, turn tv on, give it a minute, see if you have optical port lit red and listen for a tone/chime from the speakers indicating tv is turning on. Each time a cable is unhooked or hooked back up, make SURE tv is unplugged from power. Do tests report back.Last edited by nomoresonys; 02-11-2025, 11:15 AM.Comment

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by triplefourI've been seeing a lot of the new TVs (samsung and LG only i think) maybe 1-2 years old suffering from sudden panel death and have been over 50% successful bringing them at least most of the way back to functionality if not all the way, with the tape masking of the LVDS pins method.
add this one to the list. the issue was on the left side of the panel and i ended up blocking just 3 pins on the connector that joins the two panel boards that make up the left side of the panel (it has 4 boards total) i didnt get the picture back to 100% perfect. i spent hours fiddling with which pins to block...07-17-2023, 10:22 PM -

by DobsukHi guys, i am dealing with one Samsung 50TU8000K which was without picture - just was resetting itself constantly. Saw some videos and read some post about simmilar issue and the advise was to try to tape cut off method and started to put tape on some of the pins on this ribbon cable:
And then i had picture but with lanes. Tried different pins and combination but could not managed to make it work without any lanes so far. Will keep playing with it though.
The weird thing is that i tried it again without any tape on the pins and now i have picture with just few lanes... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... - Loading...
