This Tv powers down and becomes inoperable from remote after about ten minutes, If switched of at socket the Tv will power up again but will shutdown around 5 minutes after. Because of the fact it becomes inoperable from remote and powers down faster after the initial power down I suspect its a power supply problem, having visually examined the power supply itself a vestel 17pw07-2 and not spotted anything such as overheated joints board burning or capacitor leakage Im stumped usual switch mode power supply its goin to be nightmare to figure out whats breaking down so any hints would be appreciated.

Re: Finlux 50F9090-T shutting down
Have you checked the SMPS's output voltages?
If they're good - it's not a problem with the PSU.
Since it's shutting down after a while it's almost certainly something getting hot -- nick a hairdryer or use a hot air gun on a low temp and start warming stuff up. You may be able to get it to shut down quicker.
My guess would be CPU / BGA problem on main board. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Finlux 50F9090-T shutting down
I ordered a power supply board Im hoping that will sort it, gah hope your wrong tom hate wasting coin on a psu if its the main board I need, the reason I went for power board was I figured a cpu problem would be unlikely to act this way and heat stress is likelier to be associated with power supply but yeah could be cpu, I did check the psu voltages and they seem fine well up till the thing shuts downComment

Re: Finlux 50F9090-T shutting down
Did you try Tom's advise and heat up the suspect board with a hair dryer?
It's a very useful tool to see if you are on the right board. Thus preventing ordering a not needed board.
Also, when you heat, lets say the main board and the TV acts up faster, you can then use a can of air up side down and spray the suspect area with freon to freeze it and see if it reverses the symptoms. With a main board you probably have to power cycle it to see the effect.
I'm with Tom,it sounds more like the main board.Proud owner of dozens of broken TV's and many, many, many boards.

Re: Finlux 50F9090-T shutting down
You can buy 200ml cans of canned air from Poundland (for £1) in the UK. About half the price of eBay and can be used as freeze spray.Last edited by tom66; 06-24-2014, 08:45 AM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by piernovHi,
Got a Finlux 65-FUC-8060 TV that doesn't turn on, 5V standby present from PSU, 3.3V on mainboard present, button signal gets pulled low when pressed, but mainboard never sends signal to PSU to turn main rails on.
I suspect corrupt firmware but I haven't been able to find anything for this TV.
TV model: Finlux 65-FUC-8060
Mainboard: Vestel 17MB130S 23473048
Panel: VES650QNTS-2D-U11
At the very least looking for a firmware that can make it turn on to confirm the problem, and hopefully a firmware that's compatible with the panel. -
by szepesifHey guys!
This is the third laptop here with this exact same issue and the forum threads and YouTube comments are also filled with this problem so I would like to figure out once and for all what's causing it and how to fix it because this model will keep coming to me to repair.
Symptom: The laptop turns on and works fine UNTIL the Windows starts loading, then it shuts down. I can start it again but the same thing happens over and over again so I can't get into Windows. BUT I can enter the BIOS and it stays there forever without shutting down. The same applies if I remove... -
by Camarada78I have a Carvin PA620 powered mixer with a weird problem: channel one shuts down the entire speaker output when plugged in. Its not a short because it still outputs sound through the line outs.
1. voltages are somewhat correct (-42/+42, -26, -17/+17, when it should be +-43, -24, +-18).
2. Channel 2 if plugged works normally, no issues, any volume.
3. Channel 1 if plugged very low volume, works normally. if goes a little louder, it shuts down everything (both speaker channels)
4. line out works normally in any situation, even after shutting down the speakers.

I bought this NAS as "turns on then straight back off again". When I received it it had no trouble staying on, just the RAM stick was in the wrong slot so it wouldn't POST. I was hoping that was all that was wrong with it, but it's now started randomly shutting off once a week. When I find it off it will fire straight back up again if I hit power, no need to power cycle. Nothing ever in the logs aside from "the last shutdown was unsafe".
It's got an internal PSU, an FSP250-50LC (which is wildly overkill for the hardware really). The electrolytic caps in the PSU... -
