There are printing by the connector telling you what the pins are. Look at the picture in post 2, it is out of focus so we cannot tell what the labels are.

spokm yea thats what i did. those little wires are going into the LCD i think. budm heres the label on the psu connector. there is no label on the connector on the inverter board.

Take the DC voltage reading on pin 12 (ON/OFF), 13 (I-PWM), 14 (E-PWM).

OK, the inverter is getting the correct signal and voltages. Inverter transformer resistance testing will be required next. Need the numbers as printed on the top of the transformers.

BTW, the power supply board has two connectors so it be used with more than one model of the inverter board, since same model TV can have difference make and model of LCD panel assembly. You can see that all the pinouts of the two connectors are not the same.

that makes sense. i noticed the pinouts were different too thats why i didnt want to try plugging it in there

ok the transformers are labeled 4018L 0742T5 SD-2

but if one transformer costs 20$ i might as well buy a new inverter board if thats what it is...

yes test in circuit these may not be at fault i think budm is just ruling them out at the minute and you can buy these a lot cheaper of ebay etc.

i noticed while testing the transformers, that some of them would test good using the solder joints but on some of them i had to go closer to the legs to get a proper reading. could this be a sign of weak solder joints causing the problem?

One thing I would like to try is to disconnect the #14 pin wire only from the inverter connector to see what happen.
