Light Bulb for fuse replacement test question

Hello. I am troublshoiting a TV and have a question. The 10amp fuse (right by the AC input) blew on the sub power supply which then connects to the main power suppply (Panasonic TV). When I put a 75W light across the fuse junction as part of my troubleshooting, the light will glow for a second and go off as the PS relay clicks. This then repeats over and over. My question is because this is a 10 amp fuse being replaced by a 75watt bulb, am I using a large enough bulb for the current that would be flowing through this fuse circuit? I am trying to determine if a short still exists or if my bulb wattage is too low...trying to understand how to determine what wattage to use,

    Thanks!

I don't think the light bulb is big enough. But I might be wrong cause if it has 120v and it's a 75 watt light bulb then it should be getting less the a amp of current

if your calculating what lamp would actually draw 10a at 120v then probably 1200w!!!

if your trying to use a lamp as softstart then get a 500w linear halogen lamp.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

            Macintosh Quadra 840AV PSU
            by nicktasios
I had my Quadra 840AV (which I recapped and had working) plugged in for some time without using it and randomly decided to turn it on today. Unfortunately it did not turn on. After checking the PSU, I found out I was not getting anything from 12V, only from the 5V rail. After a few minutes, I removed the PSU and plugged it back in the electrical outlet and it suddenly started making a weird sound and soon after smoke started coming out. I quickly unplugged it. I opened it up but on first instance I didn't see anything out of the ordinary really. I later turned it back on and one of the MOVs blew...

            Matsui 175S microwave fuse replacement
            by drykid
            Hi,

I recently picked up a used Matsui 175S microwave that was powering up (starts, turntable rotates) but not heating. From looking online the most likely culprit was the fuse, but unfortunately in this one the fuse had heated up and fused with the (badly designed) fuse holder and couldn't be removed. I guess this might indicate further issues beyond the fuse itself but at this stage I just want to replace the fuse and see how I go from there.

Anyway since I couldn't get out the fuse itself the easiest fix was to replace the fuse holder assembly that runs between the...

            Replacement Fuse - 980TI Gigabyte
            by whc14765
            Hi,

I have a GIGABYTE Windforce 980TI with a blown fuse. I have already found the root cause for the fuse blowing.

I need help getting a replacement fuse - I'm fine with waiting some time for some cheap ones from China.

The fuse says 10A on it. And I'm not sure what package size it is exactly. Also, how do I know if it is a fast or slow fuse?

Samsung LN40C630K1F LCD TV No Backlights and Flashlight Test Fail
            by signal.quest
            Hi all,

I have been working on a Samsung LN40C630K1F LCD TV. On power up the backlights only briefly light up when first powered on then they go out (2 seconds to black). The flashlight test also fails. The sound works fine. Please see attached pics.

I have researched the forums a lot. I have watched the videos of trying to locate the bad CCFL or transformer and bypassing. I can't find any evidence of a bad transformer/CCFL. I verified I get 376V from the big caps to the fuse. I have used a small/cheap oscilloscope and it looks like the MOSFETs on the inverter...
