Sony Aquos LC-42D40U The screen lights up white, then dissolves across

New to the community, first time posting.

It is an older model, but, if i can save it at a fair price and with out too much headache, it'll serve as a spare TV in the garage. It belonged to my friends father. Not too much info was available how it ended up this way, "One day it just stopped working". Video included.

Any insight would be great. If there are too many, "could be this..or that", I'll just leave it to the curb.

I have a strong feeling ts the panel that has a short in it.

It does looks like bad panel due to bad TFT drivers. I would try having the ribbon cables between the T-CON and the panel connected one at a time to see what will happen.

One possibility is low supply voltage to T-con, I have seen this effect on some LCD monitors with bad capacitors causing the 12V or 5V line to drop out.
