thanks for the advice caleb. but are you guys saying that the main IC is simply not sold? i think i will try to learn the art of reflowing starting with buying this cheap station. also i may pay the 40 dollars just to see the guys 5000 dollar machine in action and learn some tricks. in the meantime the tv will collect dust. i bought a couple more tv's from the guy today... one turned out to be perfectly fine.. a 32 inch samsung and i only paid 20$ for it. the other one is a 26 inch vizio i got for 10$ and it has some problem...gonna have to start another thread for that one i guess!

You could possibly buy them in quantity probably starting at about 5000, but as singles no one is going to bother stocking a chip very few people are going to buy. When you get your station pick up some old stuff you dont care about fixing to pull and reflow chips off of for practice. Once you can do it with regularity then you can try to work on something you want to save.
Beware of selling a tv that appears to work fine, often they will have an intermittent problem, Although I do have a 32" vizio i picked off the recycle pile that has worked fine for the last few years, I got a 42" polaroid a few weeks ago that appeared to work fine, it ran for a week before the problem manifested itself (double image with slow scan) then disappeared again. Im thinking something on the tcon, but it hasnt repeated again yet to test.

double image would usually be tcon wouldnt it? the 32 inch samsung worked fine all yesterday and night...there is only one very small problem if you look closely and on a white background you can see really faint horizontal..."scan lines?" theyre not scan lines but thats kind of the effect...you can pretty much ignore it most of the time but in really bright situations it becomes noticible...thats probly a tcon board issue too im thinking...

No Standby Light on Samsung UN65MU6300FXZA with Mainboard BN94-12440E
            by Michael Long
            I had a Dead Samsung UN65MU6300FXZA with Mainboard BN94-12440E
Dead / No Power / No Standby Light results after power company had three
consecutive power outages on/off/on/off/on/off after which TV was rendered unresponsive.

After exploring the issue found Mainboard was the fault. Then with research on this site determined IC1604 was the suspect. The IC1604 is a surface mounted device (SMD) EEPROM, Winbond Model 25Q40CLSIP. A read on this EEPROM came back with all FF FF FF FF FF in all registers blank and empty of data. I had a spare mainboard with intact IC1604 and utilized...

This Sony has a separate AC->DC power adapter supplying 19.5V to the TV power board (JK3)

Disconnected JK3 power board from main board, checked voltages on all the pin outs

At a few pins I can see the power supply providing 19.5V to the main board

Based on the service manual triage.. it seems to be pointing towards the power board (JK3) being the most possible culprit

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
            by ChristianBr01
            Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
            by stylishconsultant
            Hi All,

            Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

LG 55EG910V - no power and no standby light
            by AleMonti
            Hi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.

The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.

After checking the basics I did the following:
            • I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It
