I wanted to give everyone an update on Payless Components. I would recommend them to anyone. The board sent to me was all modified. I have no idea if it worked. I sent it back. Not only did they refund me the price of the board, they also refunded me the shipping and the shipping back to them. A+ company.Comment

TW2005 recommended a repair depot (Moduslink Parts) to me and I tried them out. I had a Panasonic SC board that had missing parts and a broken solder trace. They fixed it and returned it with no extra shipping charges to Canada. I would recommend them to anyone.Comment

Have to report double dud from payless. TNPA5066AC, damaged heatsink and is a dud. TNPA5072, wrong version sent and has soot, could also be dud or burnt,
Been away for 2 months so don't like my chances reporting these bad now.Comment

Initial response was return for refund, nil stock.
refund was going to be board costs, freight paid PLUS return shipping!
Explained high cost of return not economically viable and also found different revision SN & SS boards to suit.
SS was sound but 50", could not fit.
End result. 2 new boards on the way.
Gotta give credit to Will for looking after his customers 100%
For what i paid, Payless have made a loss, few places give this level of service.Comment

Bringing up an old thread but where can we buy used parts now. Looks like Payless Components closed their webpage. I guess Tristate is now Tv Parts Today? I know Shop Jimmy is still around but they never have stock.Comment

Some have expressed reservations about Chinese purchases but for around 3 years I have had boards, remotes, and small parts generally via Aliexpress, DHGate, or EBay and never had a problem. Only gripe is generally 4/6 weeks from order to delivery.Comment

Just on board prices here in Oz the suppliers I find do seem to live in la-la land, e.g. wanting $220 plus post for Panasonic main to fit a 9 year old TV. I have bought a going model of that TV for $50 !!! Prices of $90 plus post seem the usual for most whereas I will only pay generally $40/50 posted.Comment

My problem with ebay sellers is some put their boards in bubble wrap and no box so there is a high chance of them being damaged. I had a tcon board arrived bent (just bubble wrap in a plastic envelope and had a PS board with a damaged corner (just bubble envelope). There is also the potential with static damage with boards in bubble wrap without an anti-static bag. I've had a tcon board shipped to me in a box but with a piece of staticy styrofoam in the box used as a filler. I maintain a large and varied stock of boards and components, most electronic goods that I process and return to customers are serviced at a board level repair with some being serviced through this stock. Where such board level repairs are deemed not cost effective I have been known to source via ebay, I have a list of sellers that I consider to have a good vendor rating and go by that and feedback.
That said board replacements make up about 1-2% of my workload, with the remainder being carried out in house as board level repairs.Last edited by llonen; 01-01-2018, 10:39 PM.Comment

The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Opinion time - anyone ever fix one of these? I just fluxed and reflowed the BGA along with some thermal epoxy on the heatsink for the logic/motherboard and the issue is still the same (refer to video attached). Anyone think this is worth the gamble buying the complete board kit from SJ? $125 gets me a PSU, Tcon and Main/Logic. "Mouse" control works on screen until the crash. Would you gamble?

Hey, I find it very absurd that the SVOD4 costs so much and has zero documentation. I had no other choice than to buy it to unlock ECs, if there was any documentation or firmware avalible I could've made it or something simmilar. Anyways here are some of the most important parts:
STM32H723VGT6 MCU - It's a microcontroller by STMicroelectronics and its the whole brain of the SVOD4. It has flash memory for the firmware which can be updated by the SVOD4 program. Its also powered by the AMS117 which converts 5v into 3.3V. 7€ on AliExpress.

I recently found myself the proud owner of a later-model Samsung plasma (the PN59D7000 for those keeping score at home) whose panel was, unfortunately, damaged in transport. I'm now preparing to part it out, but am curious as to whether or not any damage would have come to any of the components by attempting to power it up with the panel being broken. I read in one Avsforum thread (for whatever that's worth 😂) that the "scan driver boards" (by which I assume he means buffer boards) could be impacted by doing so. Is that actually the case? If so, since I don't intend on selling bad... -

I have an Asus Rog Strix B360-I Gaming with missing parts. I know there is a resistor missing for sure, but nearby it seems there might have been also a transistor or mosfet. Below the picture of the area on the board with the missing parts. The interesting area is inside the rectangle.
I'd appeciate if somebody could make a detailled picture of this area from a working board and post it here. Getting the parts values would also be helpful. The revision of the board is 1.02 .
