LG 55UN7000PUA fixed with just dis/reassembly

TV runs, backlight on, have sound and no image (dark grey/blue/black LCD)

Disconnected right (looking from rear of TV) tcon-buffer board cable, LCD left half displays.
No shorts on right buffer board.
Started masking tcon-buffer board signals... (connection #1 in main board pic) about 20+ pins from top of connector... LCD fully displays with some anomalies.
Gradually reduced # of masking signals... eventually down to 1. Removed that... LCD works perfectly.
No obvious damage on right buffer board 3x COF to the panel like another 43" LG fixed ( link ) with similar poor design ( COF/flex rubs against the metal buffer board guard )

Masked the metal buffer board guard with electrical tape ( orange color in pic ) Will observe for a few days. My best guess is some micro short was occurring from COF to the metal guard.

Yes, any of these ~2020 era LGs probably should have the metal buffer board guard electrically masked whenever opened. This one has ~4k-5k hours on it. Don't recall the how many hours prior repaired 43" had.

One thing that might be of interest is the center of COF (Chip On Flex) has a bright copper diagonal line (~1-2mm) facing the metal guards. Was on all 6 flex COFs between buffer board and panel so its by design. Didn't do continuity test. Unfortunately wouldn't show in pic but I've drawn it in for reference.

Curious what this is for. Can't be for ground as COF can get much more solid ground via flex -> buffer board -> main. If this copper color diagonal is connected to a useful trace, then having it rub and face directly to the metal guard seems undesirable. Perhaps the flex thickness offers a gap but it is a tiny gap.

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

            TCL 49S405 double image
            by howardc64
LCD displays a 2nd image slighty offset vertically. And multiple pairs of black lines along the bottom. Probably common as google "TCL 49S405 double image" pulls up this ifixit post ( link ) with identical ( nearly, but their fault seems to be on the other half of the panel than mine ) problem without solution.

This one looks to be a more difficult to diagnose because most? of TCON seems integrated ( CSOT BGA on buffer baord) into the left panel edge board ( looking from rear of TV) There are 2 buffer boards for each 1/2 of the screen. Main connects to the left buffer board...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
            by Hakuu
            Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

            More Details

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...
