    Samsung PS42C450B1W - image quality on white screen

    Hi All

    Got this one with a fault of "turns off after a few minutes"

    Tested tv for well over 16+ hours stayed on the whole time

    It is working fine however you noticed it struggled to show white pixels

    so if you got a large white picture you had gray / blackish darker patches in it

    other than that ie any coulour and its fine as you can see in the pics

    Been inside nothing obvious very clean all in order

    Iv upgraded the firmware problem still there

    any suggestions ?

      Check Vs voltage on PSU. Match panel sticker. If it is still showing fault increase by about 5V.

          spot on tom as always, increased +5 as it was correct and that sorted it

              I'd pull the PSU and check for cold joints to make sure it doesn't come back with an upset customer.

                  having problem with samsung ua55es6800

                  tv had backlight on, sound working - responds to the remote control but no image.

                  check tcon board - had 12v in but no other voltages present.
                  when disconnected left ribbon cable - got back voltages and half image with lines and distorsion

                  when leaving only left side connected - again no voltages and no image.

                  put a tape on all (cd?! lines) on the left ribbon cable and got complete but distorted image (horizontal lines).

                  kept trying to block less pins on the left ribbon cable...

                  So I've had this TV for a while now and I'm just getting around to trying to fix it. It has a bright white image right off the bat (as of now). Colors are normal and the image looks good, however the entire screen is washed out with white and subtle ghosting. I found a thread somewhere which someone claimed it was the long strips connecting the TCON to the LCD which were bowing and shorting out on the metal LCD frame. I took mine apart and found exactly that. They were bowed out, so I put electrical tape across them along with some padded spacers. Previously, before doing this, the image was polarized...

                  Hi I have here a plasma Samsung PS42C450B1W that turn on I can ear the inicial logo sound and can ear the Chanel sound but no image and I can see that as a half horizontal black line in the bottom and the other Alf I can see some kind off color pixel . Could some one help me on this ?.
