    Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37 won't turn on red light blinks 6 times...

    Hello Everyone,
    I am having a problem with my Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37.
    Power on blue light comes on, you hear a click and then red light flashes 6 times.
    I found a problem fuse on power supply board and replaced it with new one. Powered on and blew fuse right away with same red flashing light Now I am stumped! I took a pic of the board and put a red arrow pointing to the problem fuse. Does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot or best guess problem from experience? Any help greatly appreciated

      Welcome aboard!! Something obviously popping that fuse. An old trick that you can try.........you will need a handful of those fuses to test. As you can see your power supply board is feeding several boards in your tv (audio, y-sust, z-sust, logic card etc...

      What you can do is replace the fuse again. This time before powering the tv on, unplug one of the cables that feed another board. Then power it up and see if the fuse pops. If it does re-plug that board in and move onto the next one. With any luck at all you will be able to pinpoint what board is setting off your power supply. It will cost you a few fuses to conduct this test but may be worth it. A bad y or z sust could cause your issue. Seriously doubt an audio card or logic board would cause this. I would start with the sustain boards.

          Thanks I'll stock up on some fuses and try that. Hopefully i'll have some good news to post soon!

              unplug the y-main first; its is most likely the issue... these and the 42 inchers have the same issues... it most likely has samsung guts and LJ92-xxxxx y-buffers...

              If its your Y-main & Buffers
              I'd send it to Coppell... Only because its a 50incher; if it was a 42 id say part it out...

                  Yea funny I was just reading about that on the Coppell website last night. I'm not seeing any burnt areas on the boards but wont know until I find out which board is the problem. After reading up on Coppell i'm hoping its not an issue with the logic board uhh, at that point it would be a boat anchor lol

                      I doubt you have a sustain board fault. The sustain boards failing rarely blow a primary side fuse, the SMPS is current limited. You probably have some shorted transistors on the PSU after that fuse.

                              My tv has a blue light flashes 6 times then 5 quick times. It was alright. Like it was black and white. But now it's all pitch black. What do I do ?

                                  Do you recall what type of fuse it was? I'm having the same issue, and would like to have some on hand before I have to pull that mammoth off the wall

                                      You have shorted fets that are blowing the fuse, you need to test the parts on heatsinks before changing the fuse.

                                          Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                                          Model number is TH-50PZ85U

                                          Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

                                          Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

                                          I also hear a few clicks.

                                          I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

                                          Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

                                          XR-77A80K Dead set, red light blinks 8 times. Cannot find error code list.

                                          I have a XR-77A80K here. When plug in & press power, white lindicator light flashes on & off. about 30 seconds later, indicator light flashes 8x red. Checked Sony, Power reset = unplug & plug in. Factory reset involves turning it on, then pressing remote buttons when a picture shows. Well, neither of these "resets" are for a dead set like this. Anyone know what 8 blinks indicates, from the schematic? Thanks!

                                          Hello all,

                                          I have Philips Oled 55 (804/12) with black screen and red light blink.

                                          I have opened TV and tested voltages based on similar oled topics, on power supply board i am getting ps_o/f 3.3v and 5v for t-con_o/f while panel_o/f is 0v. And i get black screen.

                                          Also i have done self psb test and i am getting on psb +12V_t and also + 24V for panel. (Measurements on dmm are + 12.3V fot t-con and 22.4 for panel)

                                          When i power only psb and tcon with 4 ribbons for panel i only get black screen.

                                          My questions is what should i do next...

                                          picked up a tv and when the power is plugged, the standby light flashes real quick then goes off. of 3.3, 12, 24v is all there but i couldnt find any 5v on the back-end board. ON/OFF is low, which it seems is what turns on the backlight so i removed the wire at the back-end board and put a 10k resistor to the 3.3v, which when plugged in brings on the backlight for a split second and also a blue light "LED1" on the inverter board, which goes off after a short time.
                                          am i missing something to bring on the backlight or is the inverter/ccfl gone bad? would that cause the inverter board...
