    Hitachi 57S715

I hear a relay click and DP40 and DP50 leds light then fade. I assume the tv is going into a shutdown. I monitored the secondary voltages and they all come up normally for a second before shutdown.

It was quite common for the convergence ic's to go bad, shorted. Try unpluging PPDC plug (has 3 large wires) from the convergence amp board, should be the board on the right with 2 large heatsinks on it. If the tv comes on with no convergence correction, teh stk*** ic's are bad, (only one is most likley bad but replace both)

I appreciate your response. I pulled the connector on the convergence board but still in shut down. Vertical IC next possibly?

check dp32 bridge rectifier and cap cp03 for bad connections.
also does the power led on the front of the tv stay on?
also check the pico fuses, ep01 & ep02, but I think they will be ok.
I have'nt worked on one of these sets in a long time.

It has been a long time for me as well. Many a late night trying to figure shutdowns over the years.

Front panel led does not light up at all. I checked the items above for poor solder connections and the two fuses are good.

I extracted the Power and Deflection schematic from the (32meg) manual it might help.
