Philips LCD TV Colors do not line up

Hello everyone! Thanks in advance for reading my thread

This past christmas I bought a Philips 40PFL4707 off Woot, refurbished. I've barely used it in that time, yet about a week ago the colors started to have problems. The red seems to be vertically off from the other colors, appearing lower. There is also a dark bar at the bottom of the image, I assume related to the colors not lining up. This happens on all inputs and to the menus as well. See pictures below.

For a while this problem wasn't constant, flickering on and off. It seemed during this time that the amount the colors were misaligned would shift a bit. Now its pretty constant.

I'm hoping you guys can give me some advice on what may be wrong. I have a good bit of hobby electronics experience, though little with high-voltage equipment. If its a simple-r problem like checking capacitors, I am confident in my abilities. Because the TV was a refurb, the warranty has passed.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the direction. I'll try taking it apart this weekend.

Are you pretty sure its the tcon board? I was having a hard time diagnosing the differences between those problems and tab bond problems.

I'm honestly a bit confused. Is this my T-con board? Its a different size than the ones I've seen, but it looks like its hooked up to the logic board and the LCD.

If its not, any idea where that board is? I'm having a hard time finding info on this/a similar TV.

Nothing look damaged on that board or anywhere else as far as I could tell. No bulging capacitors, burnt areas, etc. I have not tried turning the tv on since opening it up.

Thanks much, let me know if there is anything else I can do to try to figure this out.

yeah thats the t-con but those types aren't replaceable because they are fused to the board from the panel. did you try moving or putting pressure on the 2 tabs that go to the panel and see if anything changes on the screen?

Re: Philips LCD TV Colors do not line up

I've just gotten around to trying to fix this TV again. Applying pressure to the pads seems to do nothing.

I did notice that two of the components on the board, coils L5 & L6 are pretty melted. They definitely get hot with the TV on. Maybe that's my problem? I've attached a shot with L5 & L6, as well as a close-up of L6.

While I have a reasonable bit of soldering skills, I'm not an expert at testing components. I am up for trying anything to fix this TV, as I have the time and otherwise its a total waste.

p.s. It may be worth noting that the amount of vertical color misalignment seems to shift a bit when the TV is started, but stabilized while its running (as shown in pictures above).

Philips 70PUS7855/12 bad colors when applying the tape fix on teh T-con board
                      by silikon77
                      Hi!
Got an 70 inch Philips tv model 70pus7855/12 from scraps and I decidet to give it a go. I'm an enthusiast but no porfessional in the electronics.
Found some advices watching youtube nad came up with this:
It came with no picture, after diagnosing it I found out that the right side of the T.con board was faulty.
I taped down the clock signals and I got a picture but the left side of the panel has less pronounced colours. Only the right 3rd side of the panel has good colors.
                      See attached picture.

I tried a few combinations to block individual clock...

Need help with this unit...looks like the colors are not displayed correctly....not an expert, but looks like something wrong with the GREEN...have attached the photo of the 'home menu' and the recorded video of the Demo video that's on the TV for viewing/testing.

Where should I look for faults? Everything else looks/works ok.

BTW...have upgraded to the latest FW/SW version, but nothing changed....

TV Philips 43PUS8505/12 - horizontal line and picture jumping
                      by betmen
TV is Philips 43PUS8505/12, bought in 12/2020, so the two-year warranty has expired about 5 mounth ago...
Problem is that 15 minutes after TV is turned on, the horizontal lines appear and picture start jumping up and down.

I suspect that T-CON is faulty when wormed up...

I separated all the cables from the T-CON and cleaned them but there is no change.
Eco mode is disabled, software is up to date, I make factory reset and reinstal TV from TV menu...no change, problem is stil here.

                      Anibody have some thoughts?...

                      Hi to all,

I was given this TV, an entry-level 4K 50" set. Some have criticized its lack of contrast and relatively poor colour rendering, but for my needs, it's very decent.

I reset everything to factory settings, but this line keeps on fading in and out when watching a streaming channel from the Tizen firmware. Interestingly, it only happens when TV is warm, after about 1h45 of it being turned on.

Watching a movie from an external source doesn't trigger the line as easily (needs 2 hours), and from a normal viewing distance, is hardly noticeable. It...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
                      by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?
