    Opinion on 2 tv's

Thanks to everyone on this forum, I have successfully repaired about a dozen tv's.

I recently repaired a Philips PDP 42X3 that only had one bad cap.
I also repaired a Panasonic TC-P42X2 that I had to replace every board but the buffer boards and the P board.

I am going to keep one for my cottage.

I'm into the Philips about $50.00 and about $300 into the Panasonic.

Both are 720p. Which one would you people keep?

Definitely the Panasonic... why did you replace every board?

I think it was a graveyard tv, where they put dead boards in. I bought the SN and SS from Shopjimmy. and the mainboard from eBay. Would I be safe to keep it? I'm just worried since I replaced so many boards. It is a 600Hz tv unlike the Philips.

The SS and SN are likely to be pretty new. Should get some good use out of it, gotta be better than the philips.

All plasmas are 600Hz driven. Well the Philips might be 480Hz but either way you won't see the difference. Plasma TVs process sub-fields differently to LCD TVs.

Learned something new. Thank you. Does a panel take a beating when all the boards driving it blow? That's why I'm concerned about the Panasonic.

Shouldn't do, the panels are basically glass and metal electrodes.

Both mine are rebirthed with SC boards, admittedly just the one was shorted. 1.5 and 2 yrs on both still great. they only had 2 -2500hrs on them when I got them.

Awesome! I guess I'm keeping the Panasonic.

Having one more crack at my 42X20, same as yours. Just scored SN/SS/C1/C2 boards at a good price.

If it's still no good after that then that's it.

So what have you replaced on that one? You were having the same troubles as I did. I thought I wouldn't get mine working because of the wrong A board.

                        Re: Opinion on 2 tv's

if i was in the US market it would be easy but Australian A boards are pretty unique.

I'd say your A board is not the same one but is the right one, just slightly different features so it was always going to work really. it was all the other surprises I was worried about and you did not disaapoint there either.

Does make me wonder if these are a little tempermental when something fails.

Mine is a mess really, repaired SS with just the IGBTs, then A board was dead 1 blinker, got a NZ board and rechipped it from my old one.

Kind of disappointed i did not know the 1 blink was a single eeprom bad but that's the way it went.

somehow blew a DG501 IGBT in the ERC cct on the SN, still not going at this point either, then took a pot shot at the C board and found a buffer IC on that shot, running but picture just maldischarged and I get vertical white band on the C buffer i touched, give it a tap and that goes.
Corroded ribbon between the SN and A.
Plus it had 8000hrs on it so really my worst Panasonic for a fixer. very high humidity here and who knows what happened to it.

Only having a nother go because i have nothing else to work on and seeing yours running, I'm hoping that if i replace all the pnel boards I might get lucky.

Anyway should be able to sell the boards if no joy, waste of a panel though if i fail.

since plasmas are gone, I'll keep it just in case if I fix it.

So essentially all boards except PSU, A board will have a question mark since it was something i attacked and a miracle it still works to turn it on.

I picked up a Panasonic NH-P70G2, though it would apply to the NH-P80G2, NH-P70G1 and NH-P80G1 models as well, as maybe some other models. This one was coming up with a H86 error. After lots of testing and googling it was an error with one of the thermistors in the condenser area.
The attached French service manuals is incorrect, TH11 is gray and is a 95k thermistor and TH12 is black and is a 35k thermistor.
In my case TH12 was bad. I was able to get a 35k thermistor on AliExpress. It's 6mm in diameter.
Unfortunately the whole machine has to come apart to fix it.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

                          Hello,

I bought a SH Philips 55OLED804/12 TV with known defect in an attempt to repair it for personal use.

The symptoms when bought: Philips logo appears then tv turns off

                          Things tried so far:

                          1. Powering it on: Philips logo shows on the screen, sometimes with some minor artefacts then shuts down. Red status led flickers rapidly into two batches then repeats
                          2. Put it in recovery mode by pressing joystick down then plugging it to mains: The tv shows the logo then shows the android animation along with some minor artefacts on the screen...

                          Hello, guys!

The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?
