dynex dx46l150a11 stand by power only

let me start by saying hello im jeff and im near birmingham alabama and im a complete noob at this whole tv repair thing. To make a long story short i got a hold of a lg 42" plasma at a local thift store a few weeks ago that ended up needing caps, i had it fixed in an hr and had less than 30 bucks in it. Well needless to say now im hooked and i dont really know crap but i have a decent multimeter and a soldering gun and im willing to listen and learn what i have now is a dynex 46 that does nothing but flash the stand by led there is no reaction when i hit the power button sound or visual not even a click caps and glass fuse look good. Judging from the threads on similar models with the same issue it could be almost anything and troubleshooting it is going to be a challenge. With my strange work schedule it may take me a couple of days to reply sometimes..........Ok guys lets get started, what to look at next !!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, on the power supply board, there are 3 white connectors with labels for the pins.
Take the DC voltage readings (using chassis as the ground ref. point), when TV is plugged in but the power switch not activated, then with the power switch activated.
Post all the pins labels follow by the voltage readings.

I am still waiting for the reports of all the readings and the labels on each one of those pins on the connectors.

You have 3 connectors on the board, what are the reading on the rest. So far I see the inverter board is not getting the BON (Backlights ON), PWM signals from the main board per your readings on post 8.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                    by PantherDave
                    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

                    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Asus Z97-a power cycle, no boot no cpu voltage
                    by meraklinetx
Hello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...
