    Sceptre X42GV-KOMODO, odd Screen fade

    Hi all!

this is the issue that brings me to this community: i have a Sceptre X42GV-KOMODO that a co-worker gave me. this one powers up and totally works... except the display has a very interesting issue: on the far left there is about 5 pixels wide off then 2 on then 1 off then 1 on from the top to bottom after that the screen is fully working, that alone i could work with. but it also has a "ghosting" issue. when the display updates it takes time for the previous pixels to change. but only on 1/2 the screen. the left half. if the right half does do it, its very subtle.

other than those issues it works totally fine. the menu's, buttons, power up, it all works. even PIP works.

now i have a X32GV-KOMODO as well, i think thats it, its a 32"-36". now that one i got from a friend after a bar threw it out, and it just had a small electrolic cap go bad on the power board. and that caused a similar issue, but it was more uniform, and the tv reacted wildly. sometimes it would power up then fade off, sometimes it would just work, sometimes it wouldnt cycle at all or even light up the status led. but replacing that cap with a beefier voltage cap fixed it. in fact it failed again about 2 years after i replaced it. but replacing it again, fixed it.

but if i need to test some circuitry i do have the other working model, if the boards or component can be swaped for testing then that is an option. i have a DMM and an arduino... my o-scope isnt working (it wont turn on) so if i can do anyhing to help solve this problem please let me know.

Re: Sceptre X42GV-KOMODO, odd Screen fade

i was able to take some pictures.

the first two show the striped pixels. the 3rd pic shows what happens once the unit warms up after 10-30 seconds. its bleeds over to the right half of the screen but not by much, its mostly affecting the left side. and the streaks are somewhat constant, they arent moving or waving. they move when the condition first appears but once the tv settles the lines just stay and distort the picture and cause slow pixel response in the affected areas.

with original broken screen i can see in device manager touch screen in human interfaces

but with the new screen it's not showing in device manager

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
      by smic717394
      Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

MacBook Pro A2159 - No Display / Works on External Screen
      by Ado02
      Hi,

I am working on a MacBook that came in for a screen replacement. The MacBook powers on and works on the external screen. However, the screen stays black. The replacement screen made no difference. On further investigation, I found small amounts of corrosion.

      Please see the attached image.

I ordered a refurbished logicboard, but the problem didn't go away with the old or replacement screen.

Can anyone suggest where to go from here?...

      Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
      by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54. displays on the external monitor and works fine, the issue is NO display on the internal screen
      by DqMagetz
      Good day!
I have a customer's laptop — Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 (EH5VF - LA-H501P). It has a display on the external monitor and it's working fine, but the issue is NO display on the internal screen. I already replaced the eDP cable and checked the LCD connector pins.

      Here are the voltage readings:
      • Input – 19V (stable)
      • +LCDVDD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
      • EDP_HPD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
      • PCH_BKL_PWM – 2.2–5V briefly, then drops to 0V
      • EC BKOFF# – 1.8V briefly, then drops to 0V
      • PANEL_OD_EN – 0.3V

Is it possible that the EC chip is corrupted or damag...
