Panasonic TC-P50G20 Vieracast freezes tv

Hello all. I have a TC_P50G20 that is about 4 years old. Never had any issues until the last month. It started out when I would watch Netflix, the screen would freeze. When I pressed exit, the power supply would click, the screen would go black, but the LED would stay lit. I would have to hold the power button for 10 seconds to get it to come back on.
Now when I hit the viera cast it will start to load the apps and then freeze. Nothing on the remote works but the power. If I turn it off the power supply doesn't click but it turns off. When I power it back on, still no power supply clicks, the screen comes up and plays but everything is locked up (remote controls) until I hold the power down for 10 seconds.
All other inputs appear to be working correctly.
The only other oddity is when I hit the menu button, the menu screen has some stray variations, like pixelations. Does this sound like the modem board? Is the modem board the same as the DG board? Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Any pictures of the issue? What is netflix? Is that through the ethernet connection on the TV?

If you go into the menu, should be able to find out what firmware revision this has.

Sounding like an A board issue but need more info. Is TV function and Av normal ?

I don't use the internet feature on my V20.

Select "Setup" and press "OK"

Scroll down to "about" (on the next page),

Select "About" in "Setup Menu",

Select "Version" and press "OK"

Is that just by the remote and you're powering off and back on straight away?

That's normal but if you turn off by remote after about 30 secs or so you will hear the relay release and then if you power on after that it will click again on powerup.

version 0150-7330. Yes internet apps through viera cast. I was using the Panasonic wifi dongle, but today I unplugged it and used the LAN connection. Remote or power on tv do the same, unless I hold tv power down for 10 secs.

Hmmm, must be different other there. I was thinking maybe worth trying a firmware update.

latest version is Ver. 3.750. for US

Mine is 3.607 `(oceania) which i can work out looking at the software version?

How stable is the TV if you use it normally?

the only risk with doing this is if your TV freezes or if there is some other issue and the firmware does not write to the eeprom, then you may end up with a bricked TV.

I've done mine with no issues but your call.

depends how important netflix is to you.

It may not fix it but it seem to be an A board issue so you may have to replace it anyway assuming you can find one.

might be worth contacting panasonic or an agent in case the board could be reflashed to fix it?

not something I've read here before.

So it sounds like that application is locking the A board up. Not much you can do I don't think except replace A board or try loading the firmware again but realsie the risk of no TV at all if it goes wrong.

If this has to be fixed probably worth the risk as either way you'll need an A board but you probably need advice from a qualified panasonic tech just in case it's a known issue with a fix.

Ok, i decided to live with out my apps and netflix. TV worked fine for about 10 days, now it wont come on at all. I am looking into ordering the A board. To be sure, the A board is the board with power button, hdmi, av, coax connects. correct? When i order this board does it come with any firmware? or do I have to manually install?

All modern Panasonics seem to have issues with the BGA processor or RAM causing random lockups; could it have just been a symptom of a wider problem?

So it does not turn on but is there a blink code generated by the front LED?
