    Vizio VO370M troubles

So I just picked up a Vizio 37" plugged it in the "Vizio" amber light comes on, push power it goes to white, few seconds the backlights come on then I get a few colored lines going across the top. So I took the back off and saw no obvious signs of anything blown. I did wiggle the tcon cable and the screen would flicker and the a little more wiggling I got the screen to be blue and no signal on it.Could the tcon cable be bad? here is a link to youtube with what is just did for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XswF...ature=youtu.be

here are some pics of the boards

I think I may just order a T-con and see if that fixes it.

You might try lightly rubbing the tcon cable contacts with a small brass brush to remove any oxidation present.

Well I had another vizio and thought I could just swap the tcon cable but I guess not, there used to be a blue light that would come on but now I get nothing so my guess is the cable I tried took out my tcon board? is that possible?

If the pin out is different you could destroy the tcon or worse the panel, it needs to be a compatible board and or cable

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON
              by Fly_Among_Stars
              Hi,
              I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
              Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
              by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
              by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

              LG OLED 55EG9100 TCON troubles
              by jfl2507
So I've been having trouble with this TV for years. The symptom was every now and again the image would just freeze and sound would keep playing, a quick power down and power up would fix this until the next freeze. The problem went like this until it started displaying green lines and artifacts as well, also it would not even turn on until it was warmed up. I originally thought it was the main board so after ordering a new replacement it did not fix the issue. Next on the list was a TCON board, I could not find a new one at all, so I bought one that was compatible with my TV used, not exactly...
