JVC LT-47X579 Picture comes on and then off

Hello, all new to this forum but plan to be here for a long time.

What I have is a JVC LT-47X579 that I purchased off Craigslist to start my new hobby for $30.00 well I got it home plugged it in and then at first it had just like a blue glow to it, so I cycled the unit off and then back on and seen the HDMI box come on it the top right corner I was excited....well I then took it to the living room and hooked it upto the HDMI from the DirecTV and boom it was working for about 4 to 5 minutes then the picture faded out and the sound stayed though then it came back and then back off again, so I powered down turned back on it came on then off but still had sound. So anyone have some ideas where to begin?

After I solve this one I have another 32" Sharp Aquos issue as well....the fun is just beginning...lol many thanks in advance

Also if anyone ever needs any HVAC (heating and cooling advice or parts, that is my main profession)

first thing people are gonna want are pics of the back of the whole tv with the cover off and then individual pics of each of the boards. to add pics hit go to advanced and then close to the bottom hit manage attachments to add pics. if it is intermittent it could be a lot of thing. something loose, bad connection etc.

Can you post pictures of the boards?

Have you done a visual inspection of the boards looking for bulging or leaking capacitors, overheated components, or other indications of failure?

Have you checked the power supply voltages?

Can you tell if the backlight is turning off when you lose video?

Have you tried anything other than the HDMI input such as cable input, menu, etc.?

No I have not before I tore into it wanted to make sure it wasn't something as a simple reset or some rookie mistake I was missing. But I can do this this evening as well. Thanks for the input.
