As you can see though, the 50H3 board has a sticker on the flash chip with 50H3 firmware, 60H3 has 60H3 firmware. So the board firmware is different.

If you're feeling lucky, you could swap the flash chips over and it would probably sort it out - or you can order a board for a 60H3 panel.

FlatTVParts, Emos TV spares, RecyclingLives, Parts4me.uk
You could also find someone to swap 50H3/60H3 flash chips.

Wrap board in foil, aside from the chip in question.
            Use 350°C moderate air.
Circle around device and push GENTLY on one edge slowly to remove it.
Clean pads with flux cleaner (or isopropanyl 90% or greater)
If all pads are intact I would hand solder chip on.

A tip no wider than 5mm nor smaller than 3mm I find best - circle around the pins while using hot air.

Flux - cheap no clean stuff works.
Solder - my favourite is the Multicore stuff but that's quite pricey, any good thin solder will usually work.

                        Alcohol - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-X-500ml-...item3cd25a546a

That is about the level of quality expected from a hot air and soldering station with a two digit price tag...
I had an Aoyue968 which was probably made by the same company, nothing but problems...

                                Re: lg ps8000 vertical lines

Well I can't exactly follow what I preach - my hot air cost me £40.00 but it's at least slightly upgraded chinese junk... DIGITOOL from Farnell. I bought it from a guy on eevblog forums called TopLoser, he occasionally has equipment at very, very reasonable prices.

For soldering I use an ANTEX 690 SD... excellent 65W element, really stable temperature -- second only really to a Metcal... RRP around £200 or approximately £0 when my boss was cleaning out the old gear .

For occasional work it's fine, just don't expect high reliability stuff for that low price. I got so frustrated with mine (my one before the DIGITOOL, the AOYUE 968) because after 2 years use I had:

                                - two hot air element failures, one nearly setting the gun on fire (flames were coming out of the end!)
                                - one soldering iron element failure
                                - endless problems with random display lock up, ERR, showing 530C (for temp all the time) etc.
                                - loud buzzing noise continuously when NOT in use
                                - pump vibrations randomly making entire unit shake across the desk

...I paid £139 for that and it was the worst £139 I have ever spent.... NEVER AGAIN!!!

As I said, if you only use the unit occasionally, that's probably adequate for you, just don't expect high reliability.

If you come to depend on your tools, you're wanting to look at the £250 to £500 range, units like Hakko, which are high quality Japanese designed...

But that's an awful lot of money to spend on a hobby.

That's not really anything special, as it doesn't appear to have an adjustable tip temperature which is fairly essential with modern electronics (especially surface mount, but also when mixing lead free and leaded, or when using the soldering iron to shrink heatshrink tubing.)

I'd only get it if it was really cheap (like £20 or less.)

It's also not got a hot air gun which you would need for the occasional job like this LG ctrl board.

Tips, I'd get a chisel tip and a pointed tip, no need for any others.

I'd only get it if it was really cheap (like £20 or less.)

It's also not got a hot air gun which you would need for the occasional job like this LG ctrl board.

Tips, I'd get a chisel tip and a pointed tip, no need for any others.

Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                                            Hello,

                                            i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                                            Thank you for your help

Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...

I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...

Vertical Lines on Half of LCD Display

I have an Siemens HMI with vertical lines on half of the screen. These lines aren't scrambled garbage but rather very regular in pattern and color. I have replaced the LCD with a new one and still the problem persists. I'm wondering if this isn't indicative of a bad video process chip or video memory? Any help would be appreciated. The cable appears to be OK but one pin on the header is unpopulated, though there isn't any loose wire to suggest one broke off or popped out of the connector. In the picture below where the connector is busted out of the side, I did that with my small screw driver...
