by d:sign d:5032m Loud Buzzing, No Picture

Hi all,

I have a by d:sign model d:5032m plasma TV. The unit successfully enters into standby mode, and the power light switches from red to blue when the power button is pressed. However, there is no picture, and a loud buzzing noise comes from the back of the TV. This noise stops when the TV is powered off.

This TV appears to be based off the LG 50x3 set.

Now, I seem to recall previously reading that this might be a failure of the YSUS board. However, it has been 6 months since I've worked on this unit and I cannot find where I read that now.

Can anyone offer any insight?

Loud buzzing could be caused by a crack to the plasma panel or to the filling pip at the rear of the panel.

Thanks for your reply. It is a loud buzzing like that, but it is higher pitch. Probably still the panel? I took a flashlight to the screen and did not notice anything around the edges.

Check the filling pip at the rear of the set - it is usually covered by a little shield assembly...
