Sony KDL-32S2010 - powers off and on when warm

hi all

sony KDL-32S2010

When the TV is powered on from cold its fine after about 30 - 40 min it clicks off and then back on and cycles like that

if i let it cool it then works again until it warms up

I have been inside and found a few burnt transistors but i cant identify the worst offender as its burnt right in the center

The power board is 1-468-980-11

the ones i can read are K3934 6.5 and K3561 6.6

I have checked the service manual but it does not list components for this power board as its to complex it says

i persume this is most likley the cauise of the fault - any one know what the burnt one is ? it has 2 legs board item D6114

That is rectifier diode, your board sure has lots of corrosion. Did you try re-soldering the connections yet. That diode should be removed and test off the board.

i haven't tried re soldering yet as it looks so bad i cant see it working but i suppose to try re-soldering first thanks

Bad solder connections in power circuits will cause heat generation due to the increased resistance. This board appears to have metal eyelets in the holes that the diode and transistor leads pass through. If that is the case then be sure the leads are soldered to the eyelets and the eyelets are soldered to the trace on the bottom side of the board.

I have seen this type of connection fail when the eyelet broke loose from the trace on the bottom side of the board. It can be difficult to get a good solder joint on some of these eyelets so be sure it is cleaned well before you solder it and extra flux should also help.

update on this, i replaced the PS in the end worked perfectly then.
