    Hitachi Plasma continued

Before the tv wouldn't turn on then back off after a few seconds. I hooked up a little ribbon cable between the 2 audio boards (pd1) which i thought was insignificant. However, now with the ribbon connected the tv led stays solid green. Also now the screen does not light up at all.

Voltages: There is a 13 pin connector rail. I get -1.5V, 1.2V on 2 pins. i get 5.96 on 2 pins. (As soon as i put the meter on, it shows around 9-10v for a split second then continuous 5.96.) I also show 4.55 for 2 other pins on the same rail.

I have 3 other rails with yellow, black, and white wires. 1 of each on each rail of the 3 rails. on the middle rail I get 3.3V on the white wire.

On the rails to the sustain boards I get .9V on red and .5V on white.

these voltages are the same whether in standby or power on.

    Any Ideas?
    Thank you.

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
    by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Hitachi 55HDS69 55" Plasma TV - No Picture But Sound
    by KYBOSH
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
    by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
    • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
      • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
    • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
      • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
    • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
    by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

Macbook Pro A2141 020-01700-A GPU Artifacts then no S5 rails
    by skwarszczow
    Hello everyone,

This is my first post on the forum

I recently purchased a MacBook A2141 from a colleague at work, which had issues with the dedicated GPU. The system occasionally displayed artifacts on the screen and sometimes experienced kernel panics related to the GPU. Interestingly, applying pressure to the VRAM module would temporarily resolve the artifact issues, which made me optimistic about the ease of repair.

    Board: 020-01700, Config: Intel i7, 512GB SSD, 16GB Ram.

Before completing the purchase, we decided to erase...
