Samsung LE37A456C2D - image retention issue

Samsung LE37A456C2D - image retention issue

37 LCD got it with no sound and hdmi plugs bent ( quite a mess )

manged to make the bent pins good on the HDMI sockets and got the picture working but still no sound - it said feature unavailable when you tried to turn up or down.

Did a factory reset and that brought the sound back

TV works but it has terrible image retention and you can see the refresh rolling down the screen

tried all settings and nothing has made it any better

Now iv read it might down to it being a cheap panel but unable to find any sticker on it - in the service menu it has it as chu ?

please see the pics - could the t-con or main be causing this ?

I'm guessing CPT / Chungwha panel, this is pretty much par for the course for them. You can check TCON board VCOM voltage, low or high VCOM would cause this effect but it cannot always be adjusted. It will also cause the odd/even pixels to flicker which I think I can see in the photos.

They do get worse - the VCOM adjustment drifts and needs to be set back - it's usually on t-con or panel board. Post a picture of them if you need help locating it.

But it would have been pretty bad from the start anyway, CPT panels are the WORST there are. Interestingly note the name stands for Chungwha Picture Tubes as they used to make CRTs so were in a bit of a panic when the market dried up and rushed their panels to market.

Looks like an AUO panel, huh. Not normally known for this. Anyhow, that potentiometer is the adjustment. Can you see points marked VCM/VCOM/VCO and AVDD? The VCOM should be half AVDD within about 0.2V.

The best pattern for adjusting VCOM is this. You should adjust it for minimum flicker - it will still flicker slightly, but get it as low as possible.
                    http://www.techmind.org/lcd/

I'd select pixel dot inversion or line paired pixel dot inversion. Full screen on VGA with "JUST SCAN" turned on (in aspect ratio settings) - you want absolutely no scaling and to have exact panel resolution.

Factory reset would not affect it.

Adjust while on - you want that pattern up and to be looking at it while doing the adjustment to find the best point.

I would say panel then t-con. TBH I have seen this problem before on LCDs but never tried to fix it. VCOM adjustment should help with the flickering and image retention but no guarantees.

Hi everyone. First new thread here. I picked up a TV on the side of the road. It appears to function correctly with the exception of an image issue I'm unable to describe. I've searched for “double picture” and “double image” all over the web and all I get is repair videos for when the picture is blurry and the connections are getting interference between the display panels and the t-con board. I believe this is a t-con board issue, but I haven't found anything telling me conclusively that this is where my issue is. I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide. I live a pretty busy life...

                                          Hi All,
                                          I have a Samsung Un65eh6000 with a backlight issue.

The original issue was backlight current was present but led strips did not light

I tested the backlights and all tested to be working properly.

I assumed then that the power supply was not sending current to the led strips.
Power supply board part number BN44-00560A.
After checking voltages it appears that current output at connector CNL802 was outputting the correct current 189 VDC on pins 1,2,6, and 8.

The issue then was there was no ground on the connector...

Samsung Bn4400612b Power Supply issue takes out a new 5A fuse on my Samsung UN50F6300, without any the BL or main board cables connected. Please advise if this board has known issues and fixes. There are no evident fried components and the caps look ok. Nothing unusal on the bottom side of the board under magnification. Is the ICM801CS under that heat sink a known issue? SJ (https://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn...-1473373576096) out of stock, so component level repair may be my best shot. Thanks.

                                          Hi,

I have a Samsung LN46A530 TV with an issue at power on. At first, the TV was powering on/off and clicking. I change 3 bad caps on the PSU and the issue was fix.

But, at power on a part of the screen is very dark and change progressively to be OK after 3 to 10 sec. I checked the connection at the t-con board and all seem to be ok.

Is someone have any idea of the source of the problem?...
