Panel or t-con, main would not cause this, panel more likely.

Re: Samsung LE37A456C2D - image retention issue

a lil bit info from expeirence could be the side ribbons if it has them down the left and right of the panel they are little one inch ribbon tabs with little component on

you will have to remove the panel from the tv then the metal frame supports from the front of the panel
i find if i only remove the top and the sides screws the frame will tilt toward you enough to gain access this way also secures the lcd in the frame

drastic you may say but if it has them try pressuring it or slowly peel from panel watch picture if it improves remove whole tab

this has worked for me with a few samsung A models

What??? Do NOT pull the tabs off!!! This kills the panel.

Well, I would be extremely surprised if that didn't leave you with a dead panel. I suspect as this is a 720p AUO panel it uses only left or only right hand gate drivers anyway.

ok got the new tcon - bought as "tested"

so i have good news and bad news

good is the image retention does not happen anymore

now the problem is colour washed out like an xray sort of thing

iv read this is the gamma chip is that correct also how difficult is it to replace?

Can you see any points marked VGAMA1 thru VGAMA22 or so? Test the voltage on each.

this is bad IR tcon so i take it that refers to the IC in the top left of the pic ?

The group of test points marked VGAMA1, etc. You will have to find some of the missing ones (need to get all from VGAMA1 thru VGAMA22 or whatever it goes up to.)

There's a box around the gamma points. The other two are independent points for other signals.

You also need to find VGAMA3,4,5,9,18,19,20 which are going to be scattered elsewhere around the board.

                                    hi
                                    having problem with samsung ua55es6800

tv had backlight on, sound working - responds to the remote control but no image.

check tcon board - had 12v in but no other voltages present.
when disconnected left ribbon cable - got back voltages and half image with lines and distorsion

when leaving only left side connected - again no voltages and no image.

put a tape on all (cd?! lines) on the left ribbon cable and got complete but distorted image (horizontal lines).

kept trying to block less pins on the left ribbon cable...

                                    Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some timeβ€”like after playing a gameβ€”the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

                                    Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...
