Hello I am new to forum and the tv fixing and have been doing some reading about the Westinghouse SK-32H240S and having the "w" come on then go out after a few seconds. if I leave it on it turns to orange. I have taken the board off and I see no obvious signs of a problem? could there be a blow cap without the top being pushed. here are some pics of the board.

Re: Westinghouse SK-32H240S trouble
You need to replace with good quality caps panasonic fr fm or fc or nichicon or rubycon equivalents bought from a good supplier. Caps from radioshack are not suitable for this purpose and there are many fakes on ebay. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

by alro7779Hello, guys!
I have this Westinghouse 32" LCD TV that turns on, standby led lights up (blue) but no image. If I knock on the screen there's no backlight present. I took the back cover off and injected voltage on the led connector using a Led TV Backlight Tester, and no light at all, so... it must be that there's some bad Leds, right? Or there is some another testing that should I have to do? Any guiding I'll appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance!

by phuzzydayFor masochists who want to see some of the crap that I have been through already... (Truly optional now though, all those trees were barked up for no reason.)

I started a new thread to get a fresher look at things, even with eyes that looked before. It's different now!
So I got this on Facebook for $66US, blank screen. Just reseated all... -
by socketaI bought a dead motherboard, and connected it to this PSU,
Was checking the standby voltages on the motherboard, and, whilst doing so, the PSU made a loud bang with a flash of light.
So now i truly got a bang for my bucks, and something else to try and fix.
The fuse was blowen, and the top was blowen off of a TNY276PN chip
The glass fuse didn't have any marking to say if it was fast or slow blow
So i checked the marking on the PCB thinking that that would tell me,
but it 's got a T/F8A printed on the board
So should i get a fast blow fuse, or should... -
by ohrenI had a switching transistor and PWM IC blow up as part of a repair, where a big chunk of each went missing. Now I would like to understand the likely turn of events, and maybe determine if I did something stupid. If nothing else, I should at least extract some lessons from it.
"IC10" can be found on page 169 in the service manual:
https://www.manualslib.com/download/...n-Mas-101.html
The entirety of the repair is basically:
1. Device doesn't power on (IC10 supply voltage unstable)
2. Replaced C18 and C66
3. Device works... -
by NicktronicOk, so I know I know, it's a Westinghouse....lol It's got the backlights but no video. Likely the panel, but I'd like to take some measurements on the buffer board with help from you experts to confirm. See the attached pictures. In pic #1, there's a nice pin reference to use to take some measurements. The large IC in pic #7 gets up to 60degC when the TV is on.
So, backlights, no video, go! 🙂...06-03-2024, 03:21 PM - Loading...
