LG 65UQ7050ZUD No Picture Backlight On

Hey everyone, I have an LG 65uq7050zud with a black picture but backlight is on. I tested the measurements from the PSU and they check out. I can’t find any service manual so I’m suspecting the main board. Any advice before I replace the board? Found them for around $60

Just with experience I would be suspect of the panel. Did you try disc each side of ribbon cable to get 1/2 or 3/4 picture yet? Or tape any of the ribbon pins just to test to see? Alot of lgs I get in America are bad because of panel issues with same symptoms you talk about.

I checked the panel by removing the left and right side ribbon and still didn’t get a picture. I’m also not getting any audio. A weird thing I notice is when I turn the tv off I hear a clicking sound coming from the main board. Near the main IC. I uploaded a video of it.

Just removing each side doesn't necessarily work sometimes, continue on with tape on both sides covering like 10 pins at a time. Take a couple minutes and check that.

So I looked at where the diodes are on the board and noticed ribbon 1 has them all. I placed tape on maybe 10-15 just to give it a shot and the picture is perfect. I’m kinda confused because I read how this should degrade the picture or lose potential colors?

Should I just leave it and call it fixed until it fails?

If you go YouTube and watch screen test video ( type that) and look and see if there is lines or discoloration. But probably panel is shorted somehow.

So it seems I am missing some horizontal lines. Should I start trimming the tape to see how good I can get it?

Haha exactly. I put it back together and called it a day. How long do you think it will last?

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)

Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                          Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                          First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                          by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                          by Ierwin
                          Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...
