E-motion tv backlight flashes then off

Hi all just received this set it's working with no no backlight as I have sound etc and shining torch at screen I can see the image

Tested all voltages from psi and all test correct

But don't know how to test the inverter lol

It's a ssi400 14ao1

TV is emotion

I know there is plenty of inverters on ebay but would like to fix this one any ideas what to test please

Put up a good clear picture of the front and back of the inverter board or section with the inverter transformers on.

I'd check PSU 24V. Is this one of those crappy 17PW25-4 PSUs? I have one of those PSUs with over a volt P-P ripple on 24V. You can see the noise on the inverter output - bars rolling down the panel - if you look carefully. Crazy... It's possible the output could go further out of control causing this fault.

All my voltages are correct and steady tom

the screen dont flicker or anything just no backlight ill take photos of board tomorrow but is there any fault finding tips to aid me

I believe the inverters for these are very cheaply available it will be the inverter, bulbs or main board. Unlikely to be the main board, you can eliminate that by checking BL ON/OFF signal. Inverter failure is most common but bulbs can fail too.

New inverter came still same fault I have a connector on the main board
its the inverter connector it only has 4.7v and 2v and 2 ground

the mainboard is cv306h-a-11

Any ideas how to test or what the connector voltaged should be

Those voltages sound about right to me. I'd suspect bulbs in the panel or a defective inverter.

Right tom ok second inverter same fault thing is only half the bulb lights on each tube
then all light dies

Could be a short to ground/arcing inside the panel; you'd have to take it apart to be sure

Took it all apart mate and cant find problem any ideas im going to recheck all voltsges now
where should I be looking for this arcing I have screen so can check anywhere

All voltages from power board all to spec so problem to me lies with mainboard anyway to jump the backlight on tom

Probably not. If your 2V & 4.7V are OK and steady (after B/L goes out) then the main board is A-OK.

Can you see where bad CCFL(s) may have been?
