So just a slight glow from the bottom? I suspect you have a bad Y-buffer upper and Y-main. These are repairable and documented, but it's reasonably involved and you'll need a good soldering iron and preferably a hot air gun.

The second on top? You have to repair Y-main too, or the buffer will fail pretty quickly again.

I wouldn't use solder paste except for the bottom pad - it's too messy to rework a board with solder paste.

It looks very hard to solder each one of them points for that chip there very small

                        Re: samsung 50 inch plasma

It's one method. It's OK for low pin density like that. But it is a lot more difficult when the pins are so closely spaced. You get too many bridges, sometimes between pins almost impossible to take off.

It's not that hard, but practice on a scrapped board first.

The preferred method is known as drag soldering. Tack each corner with solder while holding the chip in, then drag the solder over each pin. Wick away any excess (the excess will be on top, so you can wick it easier - with paste, the excess gets between pins, or worse, underneath the chip, nearly impossible to remove.) If you get the speed right and use the right amount of flux, you won't even need to wick away the solder. It'll come away perfect.

                        See here:
                        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uiroWBkdFY

He uses a bit of paste on corners and solders it, along with kapton tape to hold the chip in place - it's a personal preference, you can also just tack pins manually with solder if you don't have any paste.

If you do buy paste, be aware that the yellow stuff on ebay is essentially useless. You want the grey stuff. Flux can be in liquid form or paste form, either works.

                          Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.

                          a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON

                          Hello, I have a Samsung Plasma TV - Model # PN43D450A2D

This was my parents TV and the initial symptoms were that the display was hard to turn on with the display making various clicking noises until one day it would not turn on anymore.

I took a look and found a couple 1000uF capacitors (i believe on the low voltage size) that had leaked out their electrolyte and did not test well on a tester. I replaced them but still no dice.

When the TV is plugged in, there is no clicking, LED status lights (on PCB boards or the front display) and the power on button...
