sharp aquos lc-c5255u vertical bars bad panel or tcon?

hi guys, just looking for some input from a few fellow "sparkchasers" (and yes I will update the outcome lol) I have a sharp aquos lc-c5255u that i'm working on for an older person (trying to save them a buck or two) that has a couple of vertical bars (as seen in the pics) all voltages on the psu check out ok, and yes vertical bars are showing over the osd witch leads me to believe it may be a panel failure. just trying to rule out the tcon. so with that in mind all input will be greatly appreciated. thanks and have a blessed day.

High chance that panel is bad there - only saving grace would be that I have never seen a modern Sharp with a bad panel so could be a bad connection going to that part of the panel (one of the first FHD 100/120Hz panels so done a little differently.)

If the tabs and TCON are at the bottom, I have had two sets in that config. with liquid damage.

Yes, if connections have been cleaned, I would say bad panel. Sorry.

it was a bad panel as suspected, tried with known good tcon with same results, case closed. thanks

Sharp LC-70LE650U vertical black and red bars
                    by ninja_zx11
                    Hi all,

70" LED TV is Sharp LC-70LE650U.

Initial problem was horizontal lines and slow motion lurrs on the bottom left of the screen. So I removed both the left and right ribbon cables from the T-con board and tried to clean it with alcohol and when I put it back, this issue appeared. I tried carefully reinserting the ribbon bon cables but same thing. I checked the traces of the ribbon cables with magnifying glass and everything looks good. I cleaned the small jumper ribbon cable on the left side of the screen which cured the horizontal line and slow motion blurs...

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
                    by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in
                    by sefoster
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

Sharp Aquos LC-40UG7252E LCD TV burn in?
                    by jonah1024
                    Hello!

I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.

Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.

                    - I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
                    - I did a factory reset as well...
