    Samsung PS50Q96HDX Horizontal Lines

    Hi All,

I'm hoping for a little assistance with the above plasma.

The set arrived with a glowing Buffer IC on top board (2nd from top), so proceeded to replace and also rebuild the YSUS board with new FET's etc. Set now runs OK, but has two horizontal lines across the top part of the screen at approx 1cm apart. The lines are not black but almost appear to be inverted. (see attached Pics)

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Matt

Check soldering for that buffer IC - joined pins and pins not connected.

      Thanks Tom,

I couldn't see any shorts, but some of the pins looked a bit light on the solder side. Re-soldered all the pins again and it now works a treat!

      Thanks once again,

      Matt

Great to hear. Did you put the insulating gunk on the pins after soldering too? That is important, otherwise humid air might lead to blown buffer IC.

Yes Tom, all gummed up again now.

It took longer to remove the silicone than to re-solder the IC again..a true PITA.

          Cheers,

          Matt

            Samsung QE50Q67TAU - horizontal lines
            by Rubenlily
            Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...

            Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
