75" TCL 8K Roku TV bad T-CON or LED Board?

    I Have a 75" TCL 8K Roku TV (75R648) that I think has a bad T-CON or LED board.

The TV powers on and has audio, but the screen is grey and cloudy or has digital noise.
I can navigate the menu, but obviously, I can't see what I'm actually doing.

Tried power cycle w/ no results.

Without pulling out the multimeter and testing the individual boards, any ideas about what is going on here?

its look a common fault at this brand.. its floated complain on same issue at amazon
    some things you cay try
you have 4 ribbon cable connected between the T-CON and panel... try disconnect only one cable No 1 and the last No 4 a time and check the screen ( 1-4 will be 1 on yours left hand when you look on them from the back of the TV )

second try... discharge the completely then turn on... to do this disconnect the plug between power boards and mainboards.... and disconnect the LVDS cable between it and mainboards... keep this over night..

of course photo of all boards will be helpful too

I had this TV. It was the far right ribbon from tcon. Tape method surprisingly made the TV workable again with very minor issue. Obviously not a fix but at least something you can do to get more life out of it potentially

        Thanks, guys,

I'm going to pull this TV off the wall this weekend and take a look a the boards. While I have it open, I'll try the tape method on the ribbon connections running from the T-CON.

Just go directly to TCON, disconnect one ribbon at a time from tcon side so you don't accidentally ground the cable and plug it in, if you get 3/4 screen then it's a short on that line. There is some complicated boards in this TV so I'd just start there. If you get it then do tape. Good luck

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
            by Hakuu
            Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
            by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
