    Hitachi Buffer IC replacement

Hey I got a P50S601 Hitachi that I found the lower buffer board to be bad. Unplugging the lower board, the top half of the screen shows perfectly.

    Buffer board model: ND60200-0048

There are 8 Buffer ICs, how would I know which IC's are bad and need replacing?

I would expect a short is a short is a short so the Samsung buffer board test would probably work. Don't have a link to it but search here for hp-t5054 and you will find.

Are there any burnt or discolored parts on the board? Here is a link on testing buffer boards that might help.

Try a search function on this site for buffer boards There is alot of highly skilled and knowledgeable techs on this site. I stopped going to other sites. They just don't compare to this one. I have bought E-books fro Young and Morrow that are very good too but this is the best site. Period

        Re: Hitachi Buffer IC replacement

These usually burn a hole in the IC. whichever IC is blown you gotta replace the next one in series if the first IC is blown for example replace the third one down and the last one like 1 3 and 5 or 2 4 and 6.

On these buffer boards if one blows it likes to damage your next one its series for some reason
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

          Re: Hitachi Buffer IC replacement

There are no burnt holes on any of the ICs, but I did the buffer test similar to the Samsung buffers and there is definitely a short. But it doesn't show me which IC is bad.

I've been reading around the site and on google and it said that by measuring the capacitors next to the chip if it reads shorted then its bad (It didn't said exactly how to measure or where...). By I just probed around and notice there might be 4 chips that seem bad. HOWEVER I feel like the chips seem to be paired in two in parallel, so it may be just two chips that are bad, but im not certain.

Each chip is $16, so itll cost about 60$ to replace all four. Theres a service on ebay offering to repair the board for $60 so I guess that could be less work for me, BUT I don't trust it as much.

If it is just two chips I can save $30 by fixing it myself.

Are the traces not visible ? You should be able to check the output pins for short against ground at the input connector and trace the pins back from the ouput connector to the faulty ic.

But the chips may be in parallel, it wouldn't tell me which of the two are bad?

No, each chip only drives a specific part of the panel. You could also try applying current to the board (low level) and see what gets hot.

How do I apply low current into the board?

I'm not sure if the test I did even confirms. I just measured around and looked for any differences comparing to the working upper buffer board. I found that measuring across the caps shown next to the relative chip, that four of them showed shorted.

With your other buffer, look at the where the VSCAN voltage is, between the large thick traces and the slightly smaller one. You can measure it on a meter, should be around 140V.

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

i have a 2020 macbook pro 13" A2251 with 820-09149 logic board so i found an issue with chip labeled U6903 according to schem. boardview using flexBV software, so i removed it from the board and the issue im having is that the chip says "07A08FI ELC180" on top of it but when searching for a replacement chip, i can find tons of identical looking chips that also have "ELC180" printed on them but the first set of digits is never the same so im trying to find out if i need this exact chip with these same numbers as mine and if not which ones are compatible as a replacement?...

Led TV Board Replacement, same part number and model, different size

                      Hello my friends!
I have a question that I think you can answer and help me with!

I have a faulty main board from an led TV. And I found the same part number board and design but is from a 43" TV and I want to use it on a 65". On its stickers , all are the same except the wattage for the LEDs backlight, both state different watts and LED Voltages!

So I presume that the backlight inverter section from the replacement board has lower wattage then the original one, am I right?

My concern is that the board won't draw enough voltage to the bac...

PSU Board repair or replacement Ecler Nuo 2.0 DJ mixer
                      by eum
                      Hi,
I try to repair this fly-back type PSU, I diagnosed (identifiable) dead N-MOS and fuse, but there are 3 smd resistors on the bottom that burned and became unreadable.

The support in charge of the brand in France managed to get me the schematics from Ecler, but it didn't include the PSU board. After a while they finally told me that the unit was too old so they don't have the PSU board schems.

I can find replacement PSU board online, but only for the Nuo 3 or 4 or 5, and it seems they ar compatible with each other, as I often find boards compatible with these...
