Model of the 42"? 10 blinks on PZ80 series is well documented, easy fix.

if so am I heading back to the MC301, MC201?
So you hooked up the meter first , then turned on TV from scratch and never saw 15V? I would expect 10 blinks?

The steps you mentioned "remove the jumper from SS34 and install it across pins 8 and 10 of P12 "

        I'm not seeing that.

No 15V for F15V standby (DVB/tuner mode): 10 blinks - this is most common fault.

15V failing after TV turned on: 2 blinks - often caused by VSUS as PSU will detect VSUS fault, turn off and then main board thinks 15V fault has occurred. Very misleading...

Sorry, so focussed on the flow chart. Tunnel vision. Glad you pointed that one out. Looked twice and still did not spot it

no worries tw2005 and yep I connected up my multi meter before plugging in or turning on the set no 15v (its a digital meter so when I get home tonight ill recheck with the hold button set in case its a very brief spike)

thanks for the info tom if this is the issue how can I confirm it before replacing parts and what should I be looking for where thanks.

I think I need a list of what voltages should be where and when ie a/c pluged in, unit turned off 15v on pin.... that sort of thing.

                    Voltage checks

Ok, so I've done some voltage tests and here are the findings:-

A/C plugged in and the unit turned off
                    TP7 no power
P6 no power on any pins
                    P7 no power pins 1 to 10 and 0.59-0.62v on 11
                    P12 no power on any except 3 & 9 which have 0.48v
                    P25 no power on any

A/C plugged in and unit on, blinking 12
                    TP7 no power
P6 no power on any pins
                    P7 1 to 8 no power 9 has 0.29v 10 no power and 11 has 0.60v
                    P12 1&2 no power 3, 0.40v 4 to 8, no power 9, 0.50v and pin 10 has no power
P25 no power on any pins

Ok now the spikes, these happen just at the point of pressing the power button and are very brief

                    TP7 22v spike
                    P7 pin 1 16v spike
                    P12 pin 10 22v spike
                    P25 pin 9 2v spike

Do these point to any thing in particular or was it a waste of time lol

                      Re: Panasonic TH-50XP70BA

                      I looked at this thread
Panasonic TH-42PZ80B - Completely dead again (thanks tn245) so I have removed the caps and rebuilt the unit with interesting results, my 12 blinks has now turned into 10 blinks, so I'm wondering (just out of curiosity) as its not doing 10 blinks, 12 blinks, 10 blinks, 12 blinks if its possible to have more than 1 fault on a unit at the same time? I guess it would show power faults over any other?

interesting though that removing the caps has caused the 10 blinks error on this unit but is the panny repair on the PZ80.... hmm....

I'll be refitting them in the next few days and getting some freeze spray to further diagnose this issue.

I'll post again when I have more info or questions, thanks everyone for you help so far.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                        by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                        After all of...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                        by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
