unsure of screen issue on Hitachi #P50S601

I replaced the two obvious bulging/leaking BADCAPS but have since been stumped. it had no effect. the issue was random, and happened when I powered down the TV... I saw the screen get lines all over it right before turning black.

It currently powers on but... looks like this...

    bad caps...

    good caps...

anyways, it has been several years since doing any electronic repair so I feel a little overwhelmed. ALL HELP APPRECIATED!!!

This set has a common problem with bad buffer board ICs. I would check those.

that does not look like buffer board ICS. I'm familiar with Hitachis and buffer board failures. this looks more like a main board issue I'm noticing everything's everything seems to be shrunk to the middle and the lines are going vertically not horizontally. Usually when Hitachis short a buffer board the lines go horizontal. what does the screen look like with something actually displaying like a movie or even a snowy Channel? Is the screen only showing the middle one third section? I believe this model has an input board and scalar bored. I would be suspecting either the scalar bored or control board possibly

ahhh good question. so like I said, sound works just fine... heres what the screen does to an image :

streched and flattened as well as red/purple lines to green/blue lines.

and heres what the image should look like

I'm thinking mainboard. The one.under the metal shield. These are fairly inexpensive on ebay. Just match up part number.

Also could be a firmware issue or a setting error in the service menu. Especially if the board took a surge from the filter caps opening up.

Not sure how to access service menus. everything displayed onscreed (menu wise) shows up so far to the left that its unreadable.

will you direct me to the board in question? my parts list has them listed under different names (logic, xbus, etc).

You can try hitting that board with a hair dryer and see if it affects anything..

BTW, nice Chevy II is that yours?

                            by wizard13
                            Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a BIOS-related issue with my Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100. When I power on the laptop, the screen stays black, and there is no response from the system. I suspect a corrupted BIOS.

I have checked the forum and the available documentation but could not find a solution specific to my issue.

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

HELP - Contrast/brightness issue with subtitles on screen
                            by cloudy
                            Hi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.

Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.

It occours both on ubuntu and windows...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
                            by ScHAmPi
                            Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                            by smic717394
                            Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
