Re: reward for anyone one who fixes this bang and olfsen
You have had enough posts now to know we are lost without pictures.- Bit like the tv!
Moreover you have been through many tests with Tom - so rather than us wheedle each step why not do some basic testing or if you have already done it tell us what you find/found. From what you say it could be power supply, main board, Tcon, cables.
What is the history of the set - died in action - found in a bin? Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: reward for anyone one who fixes this bang and olfsen
Think you need to start at first principles. Check PSU supplies, M.B. rails then get the scope out, check the LVDS etc and supplies to T-Con....
With the fault you have and the description you have given--could be anything!TELEFIX

Re: reward for anyone one who fixes this bang and olfsen
In Pic 3 in the first group of 4 - on the left hand side just to the left of the group of
red cable connectors there looks to be a red barrel fuse - is it - and if it is test it.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: reward for anyone one who fixes this bang and olfsen
When you say "you get power to one side" you need to clarify. A voltage on one end, wrt (with respect to) ground, is not necessarily "power" on one side. Is that what you mean? Plenty of components act like that, typically, they are parallel parts. It is not necessarily a fault.
Have you checked the fuse on the t-con board and the voltage at both ends of that fuse? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: reward for anyone one who fixes this bang and olfsen
The "P" is a fuse. It commonly blows on these sets, so you can try replacing it.
T-con fuse is first place to check when no picture with backlight symptom is presented. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Remember the fuses on the panasonic are these the same ?Comment

Re: reward for anyone one who fixes this bang and olfsen
Different, but as a quick test (and ONLY as a test) you could use it.
For full repair replace with 3A 32V (or higher) 0603 type fuse, e.x.

BacCaps forum is awesome - thank YOU ALL for sharing knowledge!
This is about DONG YANG PSU BN44-00195A failiure in Samsung 245BPLUS. It started with bang and smoke from the back of LCD. Downloaded diagram BM44-00192A - a bit different but I will use all parts names from this diagram [and real PSU].
BIG CAP CP801 had 315V, on standby pin 5,2V. After shorting S_B ON (through 3,3k ohm resistor) 24V and 5,3V were missing, on CP801 was 312V.
RM801 [real PSU: RM801 - 0,22 ohm 1W] - FAIL
burned, measured 10M ohm.
QM801 [real PSU:...-

by abajorI'm about to take a journey into repairing this 3 Channel ICE amp. It's got a bunch of fun components I am not familiar with like Direct Stream Digital chips. It also has some onboard Digital Signal Processor which I haven't identified yet.
I am not familiar with ICE amp circuits other than they are a type of PWM amplifier so I'm assuming they require a ton of high frequency filtering on the output. I'm also assuming that the output of the DSD chips probably directly feed the ICE amp signal since DSD is also essentially PWM or creating an averaged AC signal using high frequency ~2MHz...-

by dicky96Hi guys
I have a B&O Omen laptop here. It has very specific fault symptoms, hopefully someone can give me some guidance
If I plug in a known good 180W third party charger the little LED next to the power jack on the laptop flashes red once, but the laptop will not start. It will not flash red again unless you unplug and reconnect the power.
If I remove the main battery (I can't see a cmos battery) then the led by the jack does not flash when I plug in the adapter, but if I press the power on button with adapter attached it flashes once white every time... -

I have recently purchased a circa 1986 beosystem 3300.
it worked gloriously for a few hours. then no sound and smell of burnt electronics from the beomaster 3300 amp model: 2953
attached is a bit of the schematic, I have the full pdf schematic if needed.
all, functions aside from sound output seem to still work on the unit. (cd/tape/phono change, display volume display, remote control, radio station, on off etc.
I'm pretty sure the smell was from resistor edit[r122] burning up. (see picture)
I will replace the...-
