    Samsung QN50Q60t lines on screen

    Hi all
I have lines on the screen...which is an age old problem that can be remedied by watching Youtube videos and getting out the tape.
My issue (after successfully fixing a different sammy tv with a separate tcon board and isolating the side of the panel...):

This tv has an integrated tcon...so it is a bit more confusing when trying to isolate the clocks.
It has a c ribbon and i have taken each end out to see if that will isolate the lines. instead, it makes it much worse ALL over the tv!

So....i don't know what end of the C ribbon to work with and the lines on the tv (one big one through the middle of the screen horizontally, some shorter lines horizontally on one side, and one vertical line.

I will post a picture of the screen tonight when I am home.

I was confident I could fix the horizontal lines with tape...but where to begin...how to isolate?!

I appreciate the challenge and hope to hear from any knowledgeable users. Again, the integrated tcon makes it for some reason more tricky...or the fact that I can't remove one side of that C ribbon and see a perfect picture on one side of the tv has me a bit confused/nervous that it is beyond the tape fix.

    any help appreciated

Hi jeyoung, in last 3 months I tried to bring back to life 3 Samsung models, TU series, MU and QE50Q. The first results were disappointing but I persevered, having time and study material (of course the videos on YouTube were also helpful) I managed to repair several devices from these series with surprising results. I don't know if they will last over time, but the owners of those devices are satisfied that they don't throw them away after 3 years of use. Send me pictures of the two boards that are attached to the display and the motherboard, or post them here and I'll try to guide you to a solution.

PS. All the respective devices entered the loop at start-up, with or without the logo.

Thank you very much! Here are the photos of the back of the tv. You will see the integrated tcon C ribbon…and I attempted to zoom in on the clock board on the far left of the panel along the bottom. I am guessing that schematic is attached to the c ribbon…
i added the other boards just to show you whats what

      thank you for your help!

i will note that the tv starts up fine, no boot loop that i know of

Hello again, The T-con is integrated on the motherboard, to identify which part of the display is the problem, you must disconnect the ribbon that connects the two boards attached to the display (marked ST5461D11), the right side as you look at the display, see the attached picture .
Your TV will not work without the connection between the two boards attached to the panel, and in order for it to work, a connection must be made between two test points on the main board, see the second attached picture. If the image is clear on the left side of the display as seen from behind the TV, it means that the defect is on the opposite side.
In picture 3, the circled area contains the signals that you must find on both boards, the voltages VGH and VGL must also be identified. I will come back with details after you take the test above.

Wow! Amazing help...and a much different process than when the tcon is a separate board (which is a lot simpler and well documented everywhere!). I attempted to look and read about working with an integrated tcon board all over the net...and came up with nothing. ..so your info is extremely valuable (and rare!). I hope others find this and can use it, too!

Ok, so remove the C ribbon right side (thanks for the clear instructions in the pic). Then I need to make a connection between the two test points on the main board.

My question is: how do i bridge these two test points on the main board? a wire of some sort between the two points just touching the board? sorry if that is an obvious question but any info here would be greatly appreciated!

I will inch my way forward and isolate the side of the panel and come back to you.

Thank you again for your patience and knowledge!

          JY

You must use a wire to bridge this two points! The next picture is more relevant!

Most technicians who repair TVs do not want to reveal these small discoveries because they imagine that some person enters such a forum and everything falls apart and he loses his job! It's a false approach, I learned everything thanks to some people who passed the information on and I will pass it on because I have to do this, like, send a file and I'll help you modify that file so it works for you device. I learned to repair from books published on paper, not from forums.

yes, and the power of the internet to communicate or find info (help each other basically) is the way the world is heading! I appreciate your help and will pass it on, too. I like the idea of not filling the landfill with useful stuff. And, to stop being so materialistic!
Looks like you soldered the wire on, correct?
And any small gauge wire should work?

                  Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                  by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                  Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                  by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
                  by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

Samsung LE32C530F1W with vertical lines on Screen
                  by Kambi13
Hello all, I'm dealing with a Samsung LE32C530F1W that now has vertical lines on the right side. It started with a ghost image on the top of the screen and then I tried the old trick of masking a few contacts in the flat cable that connects the T-Con board to the screen with some tape. It worked for a while and now out of the blue it turned into what you can see in the pic. I was able to get my hands on a known good T-Con board but the problem still persists. Now, what I've noticed is that the cooper colored flat cables that are directly connected to the screen itself are very hot to the touch...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                  by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...
