I have a model LN46A550P3F with the won't power on/clicking problem. The power supply/backlight inverter board has been replaced and was no help. I think I have identified the eeproms as IC1000 AND IC1003 (ATMLH820 02B1) which are marked in the attached images. The main board is a BN97-02643A and also shows BOT BN41-00975B. I would like to try the eeprom reset but am not sure which is the correct eeprom and also to make sure these are the correct eeproms. I would very much appreciate any help.

Re: Samsung LN46A550P3F no power/clicking problem
The eeprom should have 24x256 or 24xx512 or such written on it. I can't zoom in on your pics so no way to tell from here.
Anyway for the eeprom reset to work your set needs to be able to boot or at least have uninterrupted power to the chip. If you're power is cyclying it's likely this won't work for you. You can attempt to manually reset it by attatchinig wires to it.

Re: Samsung LN46A550P3F no power/clicking problem
is the clicking more of a ticking sound?that is cycling?
i dont think the EEPROM would cause this type of fault, its normally for menu's,last time settings etc
if its cycling id be checking the startup cap,and check for steady standby voltage, and if the ps_on signal is cycling, would all point to startup cap but also can be a power ic problem
but you have replaced psu etc, though take that with a pinch of salt,as not all is what it seems ,seller says"psu from cracked screen" tv blah blah blah,!
eeprom 24cx32 normally have pins 5 and 6 that can be shorted together before power up,then it will re-install from the mcu onto the eeprom, but these things are so damned sensitive to heat,i like to get them in place, and just before soldering, give it a blast with freeze spray to limit the risk of damage to the eeprom which is more likley an spi flash, you would need the part numberfixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

Re: Samsung LN46A550P3F no power/clicking problem
If the unit tries to turn on but begins to cycle on and off before any video is displayed and all of the SMPS voltages are good, disconnect the LVDS cable at the T-Con board. If the set starts and the backlights come on, replace the T-Con board. If the set does not start, disconnect the LVDS cable at the main board. If the set starts, replace the LVDS cable. If the set still does not startup, replace the main boardRon Driver,BSEE,CET,ISCET,NESDA

Re: Samsung LN46A550P3F no power/clicking problem
Some clarification and an update on the problem with the tv. When the tv is connected to power the relay immediately energizes and the power light illuminates. The relay cycles every 25 seconds as long as power is applied. Pressing the remote power button causes the tv power light to flicker but has no other effect. Power supply voltages are correct and stable.
