Panasonic TC-L32C22 - Bottom Half Screen Black or Freeze

Description: "It turns on and functions, except the bottom half of the screen will either be black or freeze."

Is this worth attempting? Looking for a backup in the likely event that I can't fix this Sanyo.

    Thank you.

My immediate gut feeling would be an LCD panel fault, so I'd tread carefully unless free or very cheap (thinking $25 max IMO.)
"Likely event you can't fix Sanyo" - well I hate to sound like a doting mother but with that attitude...

      Yeah I know - I'm just getting frustrated. I want a TV!

So I offered him $20. I did some research and from what I gather, it *could* be bad ribbon cables or the way they attach to the panel perimeter. And I saw one of your videos where you said that when screens are split in half, it could be the D-board, I think.

Be nice if it were bad caps, too.

I'm thinking of meeting him, and seeing if applying pressure or twisting the panel bezel might give any change. Then I'll know it's something I might be able to MacGyver up, at least.

No D-board in this LCD. It'll be panel or main, panel most likely. Either way, $20 isn't bad if you just strip it for parts or try to learn how TV PSU works by making measurements at various points.

That would explain why it didn't come up in Google search.

Here are some pictures of what it's doing, if you can tell anything else from them. Thank you!

            That's definitely panel right there.

I figured. I went through about 20 pages of the forum last night looking for similar symptoms, and bad panel kept coming up. Saw you got lucky with a disconnected cable in one of your videos. Nice.

I notice in the pictures that the 'damage' changes and moves around - is that typically a symptom of bad tab bonds?

Hell, if I could get it to stay like it is in the first picture, I'd be satisfied with it.

              Thank you!

That was a plasma. They rarely have panel problems, even if the power electronics tend to be less reliable, overall, they are more reliable generally.

You can try fiddling with the tab bonds.

Yeah I've seen that video. Learned loads from Norcal. He did a video on my model Sanyo with bad IC chip, too.

Think I'm gonna get it and play around with it. See if I can't get him down a little more on it.

                  Thanks for the help.

Panasonic Tx-40cx400b top left half screen not displaying correct
                    by armoured_smiler
                    Hi,

Trying to work out if this is TFT problem or TCon issue.
The TV powers up but the top half of the screen, from the right it is OK, but as you look across to the left halfway across it starts get duller and duller until it is very dark on the lefthand side, currently I trying to clean the remote as it seems to have something film wise on the pads stopping it from registering buttons pressed.

Also when changing the screen size of Windows PC display to say to a smaller pixel sizewindow, the original window displayin the top left stays/takes a few seconds to disappear?...

panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television half screen problem
                    by renech
                    hello,
I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
                    I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left...

                    Panasonic TX-58AX802B - Boot Freeze
                    by Shotgun25
I have a Panasonic TV a friend gave me which I wanted to get running again.
Seems the firmware might be corrupt because it will boot to the logo and then freeze and boot loop.
I have tried to use a USB recovery flash following Panasonic website instructions, but no progress. If someone has other recovery methods I'm open to advice.
I was told the problem got worse over a period of time until it wasn't booting.

I believe this model uses eMMC for firmware storage which from my experience with android tablet is usually a short lifespan storage technology.

Panasonic Plasma screen interference on left half of screen
                    by Zelek11
My Panasonic Plasma model P55VT50 has started displaying "interference" on just the left half of the screen only (left when facing the screen). Sometimes it's concentrated in about the first 30 seconds after startup, then disappears. Other times it's fine at startup and then randomly does it later on. When it flashes the interference it's very quick and doesn't stay on the screen unless it flashes repeatedly in a row.

This image is a screen shot from a video I took. This is an example of the interference at its worst. Often the interference is much smaller...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
                    by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.
