Cap of unknown value. Need help please

I have a shorted cap on a samsung main board . Does any one know what the numbers on it mean, I looked all over the internet with no luck. I would be very thankful for any help finding the value of it. Thanks

Nippon Chemi Con MLA series (LA at bottom)

    100 is 100uF

C is code for voltage rating. It's somewhat standardized but it can also vary from one manufacturer to another.

    Rated voltage (Vdc) Symbol
    6.3 j
    10 A
    16 C
    25 E
    35 V
    50 H

    So 100uF 16v capacitor

Mariushm is correct, Nippon Chemi-con MLA series.

10uf 16v per spec sheet, but the example on page 1 is not right, the numbering system show I.E. 10uF:100, 100uF:101
But the marking example has marking 100 CLA to be 100uF 16V.
      I think it is 10uF not 100uF.

So, it could also be a 10uF 25V CLA series
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

It's not "CLA" because C is offset and signifies the voltage.

I'm 90% sure it's 100uF because there's 10uF only for the ones rated for 25v and this one is rated for 16v.

It would make sense for them to to use the convention that the last digit is the number of zeroes at the end but in this case the whole series is <= 1000uF so there's enough space to use the large notation (the 1000uF one is 10x10 so there is room for 1000).

The only "CLA" series capacitors I found were from Vishay and Samyoung, and the case printing style doesn't match... These are definately MLA.

I must be losing it. I forgot I had a cap tester. I better start locking my guns up before I forget to put one away some day. I have a five y/o grand son running around and learning all about fixing TVs.
